I picked this up for $80 and was blown away by the build and sound quality. This rivals much more expensive condenser microphones AND comes with lots of accessories. I collect microphones, and this is one I will absolutely hang on to.

I bought two by mistakes, I am keeping them both. This thing is unbelievable not only for the price but it really is a great microphone if you need that kind of top end , I have been working and own classic big names mics and this one does not sound inferior. I really dig the way it’s branded and the design, no nonsense.it’s a cardioid, no pad or polarity, who cares!! Most impressive product I ever bought here. I almost never write reviews but had to do it for that one

As a recordist on a budget, I was looking for a quality mic for my GarageBand endeavors. After viewing several YouTube reviews, I settled on this one, an obvious clone of the Austrian Audio OC18. Thus far I've only tested it by making a quick recording in Audacity, through a Behringer 302USB mixer that doesn't provide phantom power (I figured I'd just boost the level in software). The sound quality is amazing! Unless you're a professional with access to "name-brand" mics, you won't go wrong with this purchase. The shock mount works very well as does the included foam windscreen. And they even throw in a decent XLR cable, all for well under a hundred bucks. Thank you, ProAr.

Beautiful and great mic. Wait for sales before buying. Definitely a great 👍 buy. I'll be buying again when on sale. I always set up pairs.

This microphone works really good and I have this for like almost 3 months and it is still working really well and audio is really clear and it sounds like you’re playing a game or like doing a stream on this. I really love this microphone so far.

This mic is fantastic. Almost perfect in my opinion. The build quality, the sound, the looks, and the price. Let's compare! OC414 by Austrian Audio, this mic is close, I think the high end clarity and presence is slightly less but definitely comparable and that overall v shape eq of the mix is accurate. C414 by Proar, less high end and more smooth could easily go either way but I prefer this one as it emphasizes my deeep voice but the highs could complement my voice better. My only gripes: no pop filter like the C414 just a wind screen, and the self noise is a bit high at 18dbA but could easily be fixed with software. Would buy another of these, keep in mind I gave up a Rode NT1, Lewit 441 Flex, Audio Technica AT4033, and AT2020 in exchange for this mic as my staple. That speaks volumes.

The mic sounds natural and clear, but it has a high self noise level. The noise floor is fairly high with this mic and can be heard through a noise gate behind your voice, regardless of room treatment. This is most likely due to the circuit design of the mic.Sounds okay if you overlay your voice with some music, but it's distracting for clean voice work.

Update: Best mic I have had under $200. Love it.Original: Wonderful value at $70 bucks. Very very solid build. The quality of materials here are top notch. The mic sounds excellent. Look we all know that mic sound is so subjective. Bottomline it sounds fantastic.Do not ignore this mic. Take it seriously. It's an undiscovered gem.Appears to be a clone or inspired by the Austrian Audio OC18 ($1000).

I really wanted to move this mic. Got this mic after a strong positive review on YouTube. The frustrating bit is that it sounds REALLY good. It's warm, it's smooth, it's not super crispy in the top end (but doesn't sound muffled in treble and air). It's got a really flattering tone without being over-buzzed. It's just got such a high noise floor that it's wholly unusable for voiceover, especially if your process includes any kind of compression. When recording in a treated room, 6" away, and with clean gain set for the voice speaking normal or even a little loudly with peaks at -12 to -6db, the noise floor is above -36db. (Unfair Comparison: in the same setting, my Rode NTG5 is at -54db.) If you get close enough to get a decent signal to noise ratio, the proximity effect is tremendously exaggerated and difficult to EQ out. It's loud enough that even if you gate it hard between words, you can hear the hiss under the vocals. And it's across the whole spectrum so you can't just kill it with a high pass filter. If you apply a good denoise plugin like RX10, the plugin costs twice what the mic does, and you lose all of the detail and loveliness in the top end of this mic. It also makes it sound brittle and harsh. So I sadly can't recommend this for voiceover, live streaming, podcasting, etc., unless you've got a good denoise plugin and a lot of music or video game noise to hide the noise floor.Swing and a miss, PROAR. Which is too bad, because if the noise issue was solved this would be the best mic on the market at 4x the price. But as it is, I'll be returning this.ETA: PROAR really did the right thing in terms of service recovery. Reached out, offered a full refund, and were graceful and professional about the whole situation. I'll be trying other mics from them.

Gain hungry, noisy, very low quality sound. Very disappointed. As I’ve watched numerous YouTube reviews which are complimentary of the product, I’m assuming the mic sent to me is simply a faulty one. I was impressed by the performance of the product reviewed in the videos, but the mic I was sent doesn’t replicate that experience.

There is a wide range of pricing for large diaphragm condenser microphones. You can spend thousands of dollars or you can spend under a hundred. This Proar microphone is a steal at $70 bucks. It has a very clean high quality sound for speech or singing. I used 2 of these microphones to mic up a small choir and had really great results. Easily controlled feedback with minor parametric EQ settings with plenty of gain for volume. Close up vocal use is also very clean and professional sounding. Oversized foam wind screen and shock mount cage are provided and work well. Low profile modern design looks much more expensive than what the microphone goes for. Build quality feels weighty and durable. Happy with my purchase. I own many microphones and these are becoming a favorite.
