I used this the last two weeks camping in the Cascades. It was wet to damp and cooler than expected. We went through a lot of wood. One of the nights featured rain, with short breaks, all night long. (why is he telling us this?)Originally my intention was to simmer bigger pots over butane, propane and white gas stoves. We were a large group.Folding and rolled style wind breaks work but are noisy, sharp edged, and the helpful magnets get ruined by the heat. I wanted a long simmer on a large pot over a butane-cartidge stove after getting it boiling on a basically binary, all-on or all-off stove, one that roars. I was going to, and did, blanket the various pots against the wind gusts and got hot contents faster. I used this folded double. So that was great and all to plan...But the HUGE WIN was in heating large amounts of water in big pots over the wood fueled fire. Used as a 'cover sheet' we got hot water for cleaning really fast.BEST -- was that one night it dumped rain -- I draped a small 'holding fire' in the provided fire pit, feeding more wood into it twice, all night long and the pit stayed dry -- even as the rain water was, at once, steaming over the flames while water ran off all four corners. The 'other plastic' hem-stitching burned right up over the whole trip.I did a 'deep-fry' in a dutch oven over a propane burner, with great control over temperature, in the breeze by wrapping the burner and cast iron pot in this blanket.I may need two of these...

Used for engine bay insulation in addition to the stock foil insulation. Custom car with mid-engine, so applied to firewall and both engine side and inside of trunk. The addition of this welding blanked does help to reduce the heat in the "cockpit" and in the trunk.

I use this to insulate my backpacking cooking pot. Now my water boils faster/with less fuel and stays hot longer. It's basically fireproof.

I use these mostly as spark/grinding protection during auto body collision repairs. Grinding and STRW sparks are no worries, the size is perfect for front/rear glass, unifies and rear body/floors.They're not heavy light fiberglass blankets but still protect every thing. They shack off chips and debri easily. I have 5 to carpet the sides and interior of SUVs and never worried about burns.10/10 would recommend!

I actually cut this up and used it to fill a gap from the brick to my fire place insert that was pulling a slight draft. It worked for that and dosen't stand out.Its exsactly as described. And holds up to a butain torch. Mind you this is smaller than a normal welding blanket as it tells you it size in the listing. But since it isn't fiberglass, touching it doesn't make your hands itchy for the rest of the day.

Not exactly sure how well it works - I got for a welding job that I was able to do without it, but it looks fine

Did not stand up to heat or slag. Was used to keep sparks and slag from falling on sensitive and flammable materials. falls apart after contact with slag and will flash.
