Turn the button left and right, and the fixture will expand and contract up and down.
The iron bar should be pulled as tight as possible to the left. When it feels tight it means that it has been pulled to the bottom and the lever is fixed. Otherwise the pole will not be fixed and fall down.

This tool is great! The extras it comes with are worth half as much as the winder itself!! Very easy to use once you figure it out, just make sure that you have it on a sturdy surface.

It's fine, the metal arm doesn't stay engaged very well. In hindsight I wish I'd bought a bigger one as I buy jumbo skeins and this will make about palm sized.

Ich kann wickeln ja... Aber die Menge ist ein Lacher.... Habe meistens Wolle 100g auf 238m und müsste daraus (mal getestet) 2 Knäule machen. Schade... Aber sonst ok.

This is not my first ball winder it is definitely the worst I've used. The retaining clip that attaches it to a table is too short to really get a decent grip on the table, so I tried it on my counter and it didn't open wide enough to clamp onto my counter top. The tension rod doesn't hold tension so I had to use my hand as well as the tension rod. The yarn kept getting wound up underneath the yarn holder and caught in the gears. This is what ultimately ruined parts of a $26 skein of fingering weight yarn. This winder is very flimsy and not made well. You get what you pay for I guess. My pictures show how it wound the yarn. The top of the yarn is super messy and when I pulled it off the winder the bottom was a hot mess. I didn't take a picture of that because I was too mad by then and had to finish winding by hand.

The metal rod that the yarn goes through is broken so I have to constantly hold it to even make the yarn ball, but it acts like it dosnt want to get tight so it just falls of the table 24/7. Had for a while used several times thinking it was me. Definitely just a bad product after I used a friends. Waste of money…

This is my first time buying one of these and I can say that I am not disappointed at all! For a beginner I’d say this is an absolutely awesome way to create cakes.It was super easy to figure out what goes where without directions, but it does come with some. It is a little cheap feeling, like if you twisted something too hard or dropped this on a hard floor it might break.Functionality was a little difficult to figure out at first, but after a few tries they were coming out looking awesome. You really have to get the hang of where to hold the yarn being winded and the speed at which you’re turning.Last thing I’ll mention is that this is not for giant cakes! With patience you may be able to achieve it, but overall I found that small skeins worked best (like ones I got from the dollar store) and medium skeins were pushing it (like a cheap skein from Walmart). Overall I’d say for the price to try it and the little extras it comes with were cute.

Ok this yarn winder is awesome I only gave it 4 stars because the tension rod for the yarn falls and does not stay put. I wish I bought a larger one it makes smaller balls. On a plus side the balls of yarn fit nicely in a yarn bowl.

Absolutely love this product. It’s not super sturdy and I have to tighten it several times if I’m doing a lot of yarn but for the price, you can’t beat it.
