The shift cable requires a 9/16" socket . I tried the socket and it rounded out the nut , then I got a proper 9/16" socket and removed the cable no problem

There is no tolerance between the cable nut and the housing in an alpha 1 gen one.

Seeing the reviews before i bought it, i thought that they just weren't careful enough... I was wrong, this is a 15mm and the lower shift cable on a Alpha 1 Gen 2 is a 9/16"... I was careful and knock it on with a hammer to get it as tight as it would get but it rounded off the hex completely... Had to go buy a $40 bolt extractor and had to use the 1/2" extractor to hammer on and very carefully screw it out. DO NOT BUY THIS YOU MIGHT AS WELL BUY A BOLT EXTRACTOR KIT!!!!

We pulled the engine out of the boat, put it back in and the tool is a must have. Worked perfect

This socket is the wrong size for a alpha one shift cable it is a 15mm and the shift cable is 9/16. it is actually just a nut welded to a 15m socket and painted black it is useless.

This socket is 15mm and it should be 9/16". It is close and may work in most situations, but the nut on the shift cable is 9/16"............ I'm nstarting to think that Amazon is selling"clones".

Worked ok for the install. It seems a bit oversized so it could easily round the nut.
