User Manual:
1,Please make sure that a small amount of fuel (gasoline or kerosene) should be added before igniting fire.
2, Unscrew magnesium rod striker.
3, Quickly strike against flint strip on side of body to ignite fire.
Caution:
Do not keep using the lighter if there is lighter fluid insufficient. If you see the flame is weak and the wick becomes difficult to be ignited, then you may need to refill it.
When the flame become weaker or you can see the cotton is on fire, you need to dip the metal match again before another ignition. The lighter fluid can be gasoline or kerosene.
When the wick is burned to black and become short, the wick can’t absorb enough fluid so it will be difficult to ignite. Please extend or change the wick by the steps as below.
1. Pull the steel scraper out by pliers.
2. Slowly pull the wick out, stop pulling if you think it’s long enough. Please directly change the wick if it’s too short to wrap the scraper.
3. Put the scraper back to the middle of the wick, and then lightly hammer it back to the pipe.
4. The exposed part of the wick should be at least half of the length of the exposed scraper.

Throwing together a bug out bag and survival gear this year. Also have a family advent calandsr gift exchange and this will be a great gift for my persons box. Seems high quality has a strip of flint to strike on both sides and lights very easy. Seems to be a heavy silid built product but only tome will tell

keep the fuel topped off so it doesn't consume you wick material.The problem is the cheap plastic plug on the bottom of the unit.mine shatterd into several pieces will removing for the second time.The o-ring on it looked old from day one. it reminded me of not petro stable rubber.I like the unit so I'm going to see if I can find something at the hardware store to replace the plug and o ring.

I bought these for if I have to leave in a hurry I have something to start a fire. They are easy to use and you can clip it to your bug out bag or a hiking backpack. Don't make the mistake I made of over filling it with lighter fluid though, make sure you put the right amount.

These are amazing for what they are. But 3 only because the first one I broke because the fire stick is flimsy made housing and it snaps at the center. Gotta hold by the wick or it will break. I wear it every day and keep my keys on it so I always have it. I will keep using it until I buy another. Fantastic in a pinch. Just keep fluid in it

The design & general idea of this is great. In practice I had the fluid evaporate enough to warrant adding more on a day basis in order to light it 2 or 3 times. After a short while (2 weeks) the piece that contains the wick that you use strike against the flint bent. Under the usual amount of pressure needed to get spark. If I was gorilla fisting it. I could understand it bending. This was under the minimum pressure needed to create a spark. This would be a great gift but if your in a survival situation. And you need it to work all the time. Maybe look for one with a stronger strike piece that the wick is attached to. It won't last more than a day before you need to refill in order just to light. I do love the design and it is esthetically pleasing to the eye. I would consider using a stronger thinsel strength wick holder to correct this insufficientcy. If that was done I would buy more.

Product seems to work very well, just make sure to know you will have to use it several times to remove the factory coating off the striker surface. Once I did this it lights every time.
