If you have little experience with nibs and inking manga you will have a lot of difficulty with these nibs. They’re incredible if used correctly with practice and experience. When I first tried them I thought they were the worst nibs (scratchy, caught paper) after about a year of using them, they actually are some of the best nibs I’ve ever used. There’s a reason manga artist love these.

Finally found the nib that works so fine. I am very new to calligraphy. I am self learning copperplate right now. i have bought many set of pen and nib which not quite works. I almost give up, thinking i am wasting time and calligraphy was not for me. I am so glad to come across this Zebra G. it releases ink smoothly, did not scratch my paper, and very easy to control. i am able to create thick and thin strokes much more easily. I also come at very affordable price which i love. I would 1000% recommend this nib.

My first time EVER using a flex and I'm instantly obsessed! Can't stop watching it's precise, elegant flow which is absolutely mesmerising. You can't help but write beautifully, it leads the way for you. Slotted easily into a v v v cheap dip pen holder and that's it. Was worried it would scratch paper and take ages to adapt but oh my, it's beauuuuuuuuutiful, really is love at first flex. I know what I'll be doing all day every day. Can't wait to try with some seriously good ink in daylight. Get them people, you won't be disappointed :)

Spedizione puntuale, senza problemi.

Not the smoothest nibs, but that's to be expected considering how thin the line can get. It flexes well to give great line variation and lasts pretty long if taken care of.

This nib does exactly what it was made to do, at a very fair price. If you are a beginner to pointed dip pen calligraphy, this is a good nib to start with. This is a large nib....larger than traditional flexible fine point nibs. If you are using an oblique penholder, you'll need one with a flange that will accommodate a nib this size. It will fit into a standard straight holder just fine. Because the nib is large, it makes slightly thicker lines than other fine pointed nibs. This is good for beginners, because it is less likely to stick into the paper on upstrokes, you'll be able to make a fairly smooth line, and you'll be able to see where you are putting your thick shades and thin lines fairly easily. But if you are looking for a very fine, delicate line, this is not the nib for you. It's just not made for that. As with all new nibs, there is a thin coating of oil on them, so you have to clean the nib before you use it. If you don't clean the oil off properly, it won't hold much ink, or it will blob ink when you start to write with it. For seasoned penmen, this is a good nib for writing on crappy envelopes, it's fairly flexible, and holds a decent amount of ink. Doesn't last forever, but it's a pretty good nib for the price!

I'm pretty new to lettering and only started in the past couple of months. I have been looking at what other people are using (mostly on instagram) and noticed a lot of people using this nib for their dip pens.I noticed right away that this nib seems stronger than the ones that I got in a multi pack from the local craft store. I believe the nib must be a little thicker, because they also require a little more pressure to get the thicker lines than the ligher weight nibs in that multi pack. The nibs write well, and I have more of these nibs than I know what to do with now. I bought speedball india ink to use with this, and they work well together. This past week I also got an oblique pen holder, and the nib works great with that as well!Overall I'm really happy with these nibs and I can imagine they are going to last me forever, thanks to the superior/heavy duty quality of these nibs.

I use these with the Tachikawa Comic Pen Nib Holder, Model 40 ( T-40). This is the best nib I have ever used. I am beyond thrilled with it. I did a test with it against my Hunt Crow Quill and my Speedball Nibs, and the Zebra G is the flowy-est pen. IT DOESN"T CATCH ON MY PAPERS or illustration board, even my cheap sketchbook paper!! I used it with watered down gouache and it was AWESOME. I used it with my Dr Ph Martin Bombay inks, and it was AWESOME.After reading the other reviews, I knew to clean it first, so I just took a Q-tip and some rubbing alcohol to it, then rinsed that off with water. The ink flows nicely, no blobs. I love that the well of the pen holds ink for such a long time! Longer than many of my other nibs.I can't believe there are some bad reviews on this. My advice is don't use it right away on your Art with a capital "A". Do some tests holding the nib at angles until you find the right fit. I found that holding the non-nib end towards the paper more than I would on my other nibs/pens, is the best way to get a thicker to thinner line. No prob. It's not uncomfortable, and I immediately adapted. It wasn't a huge change.

This is an excellent dip pen nib, one of the best I've used! I've tried a number of models--both vintage from antique stores and new--from Speedball, Hunt, Leonardt, and Brause, in both the larger curved style meant for calligraphy as well as the thin tubular style designed for sketching or inking, all with varied scratchiness of the tip. I found the Zebra G model (a larger curved style) to be smooth so as not to catch on the paper, even when changing direction on the upstroke. As stated in other reviews, the notched edges adjacent to the vent hole allow amazing flexibility and versatility to the user since the applied pressure offers the thinnest of lines to very bold strokes (anywhere from 1/8" to 1/4" in width). The nib cleans easily and does not stain, but since you get 10 per pack, these will last hundreds of hours of writing. These nibs proved compatible with Speedball pen holder style B (that which uses Speedball nibs of series A, B, C, E, 22B, 56, 99, 101, 512, 513EF).
