So, like several others have noted, this is not "fully" compatible with the Sony ZV E10. To be able to control the camera with the gimbal, it requires you purchase a separate "Transmount Expansion Base". For a $300+ gimbal, I was expecting to be able to use all of the features on the gimbal. Several of the YouTube reviewers out there are not properly informing people of this, so I just wanted to continue to put this info out there. If you really must have the Crane M3, I suggest ordering the full Pro Kit, which includes the expansion base.Other than that, it's an amazing gimbal. Strong motors and easy setup. I'm returning it for the Crane M3S, which should have all the built in capabilities for my ZV-E10 without having to get the accessories.

I bought this for my Sony ZV-E10. It has the perfect combination of size, functionality and weight for that camera. It travels well and can setup in moments. It has features that I've only seen on higher-end models.

I followed all the instructions as far as balancing the camera setup. but then calibration keeps giving me a calibration failed error message. and none of the controls (joystick etc.) are working. I am returning the item. I hope it is just bad luck and will probably reorder one as this is one of the best Gimbal for Sony cameraUpdate: 8/12/2022I have finally realized what was the issue. there is nothing wrong with the Gimbal and i will not be returning the item. The problem is the very poor documentation. Translation to English is bad and the picture are super tiny. I would recommend you watch a video on YouTube on how to balance the gimbal.Make sure the front motor is unlocked before calibrating

Zhiyun really did hit the nail on the head with this gimbal.I've used the ORIGINAL crane V1 gimbal for many years now. An it performed great. But it's pretty big, the case is huge, and batteries are decent and replaceable too.But the crane M3 is on another level. Its pretty powerful for its size. The motors are great, so if you using a lens that is zoom able then other gimbals get off ballance, this is an issue with most gimbals so most people keep them at the same focal length or stick to prime lenses. With this it's great as you can use the zoom lens and the motors can handle the off ballance an compensate it so the gimbal still works great. However, it is limited to the lens you use. If you use a small mirrorless camera like the Sony Zve10, the camera body is so small and light that if you do put a bigger lens in the camera it is top heavy and can become hard to ballance and it does put strain on the motors. So this needs to be counter weighted by using a cage with the smaller cameras, even a battery grip with 2 batteries in.Again, it does depend on what camera you use.As I can use my sony zve10 perfect on it. But I find that using the 18-105mm zoom lens is difficult. It's NOT on the compatible camera lenses. However it can be used. It's a good lens as if u ballance it well then its usable as this lens doesn't use a movable zoom, as its all done within the lens. So it never protrudes further out as other zoom lenses do.BUT this needs to be used with a cage on the camera as it is a heavy lens to use on such a light and small camera.I can use my canon R series cameras on it also. These are bigger heavy cameras (not as big as DSLR cameras) as these are still mirrorless cameras. So you can be limited to what lens you add on the bigger cameras. You wouldn't be able to use the Canon RP with an 18-135mm or 24-105mm as these zoom lenses use a moving zoom so it will make the camera become off ballance and can over power its motors.BUT it has so many cool features on the gimbal. Like the built in fill light. LED an has filters that are magnetic so pop on easily. It's also adjustable in intensity and colours. The battery is fantastic. It last all day, I film weddings and would be able to use this the full day and also plug the camera in to power the camera too.So impressed with it.They have brought out the M2S, it's a smaller gimbal, and doesn't have touch screen. It also has better connectivity than the M3 built in.However you can add these issues to the M3 by using the cables, or the Bluetooth module, if you buy the top pack then it's all included, with a bag, mic, expansion base etc.For me I didn't need the mic, bag and other bits like the phone mount, gopro mount etc.The price for the combo's are gimbal packages are.M3 Gimbal basic package includes the gimbal, cables, mini tripod stand and LED colour magnetic clip ons. (Red, blue, green, orange, yellow) This is £329The upgraded combo is £449This includes the same as the basic pack but with the back pack carry bag, a larger mini tripod stand. The phone/action camera clamp.A universal quick release plate an mount. (This on its own costs £89 I was sent this by zhiyun as a promotional item, as I'd purchased the basic package)I did however offer to give my honest opinions on the quick release mount. It is definitely worth having this. As when you need to change the battery or SD card then you release the camera and its doors are easy to access without moving away the plate. As the basic quick release plate that's included is more time consuming as you need to unscrew it a little, slide it out the way while trying not to move it away from its position so you don't need to rebalance the gimbal)So definitely recommend getting this. Zhiyun also do camera specific quick release plates designed for that camera. The most expensive M3 combo pack is £649This includes all of the other packages contents with these additional items. The expansion base, (for mic connections and other bits. This is £79 on its own.It comes with a audio cableShutter release cables for Sony cameras.Excellent mic that can be used for TV interviews or other various hand held microphone uses. It's attachable to a boom pole. It's not an on top of camera mic like the rode mics. It's a full size hand held mic. It connects to the expansion base, and opens up multiple possibilities connecting audio to your camera. You don't need to connect it directly to the camera. You can connect the included cable to the USB c port on the camera, and it sync it easily. Plus it charges the camera battery as you go. So making it a power house of a gimbal.I bought the basic package as I didn't need the mic an other accessories. However, I did need the expansion base and Bluetooth module. You can buy them separately though. However, I would buy the expansion base and Bluetooth module as these open up even more features to the gimbal. Like adding a mic to the camera through the expansion base. Plus it charges the Bluetooth module too. It also keeps it safe inside when not in use.So depending on your needs you have the 3 packages to choose from.If you don't need any extra bits then the basic pack is well worth the cash. With then having the option to buy accessories should you need them in the future.I highly recommend the gimbal to anyone who uses a camera and walks with it, so from Vlogging, interviews, urban exploration, weddings its a fantastic bit of kit. With alot of thought gone into its design.

I'm finally home. This gimbal works great for my iPhone 13 max pro. It handles all the weight I put onto the phone including cages, lenses, filters, wireless pics etc.One caveat. This gimbal is designed ONLY for mirrorless and DSLR cameras so the added functions are disabled while using a phone... These include record stop/start or any adjustments like zoom. This is not an issue for me with my phone using filmic pro and the best part is that if I want to put my mirrorless on it, I'm good to go.Great deal, small in size, light in weight, VERY smooth movement(adjustable) and the LCD touchscreen is awesome!

I have gone through 6+ gimbals in search of the best solution for livestreaming from a cell phone. Many of the dedicated phone gimbals, such as those from DJI, do work with minimal setup and balancing. However, they do not have any easy way to charge the phone (the ones that do tend to have very slow charging rates and the phone still discharges, just slower), and have trouble with accessories.Ideally, I would like the ability to stream for as long as possible without fidgeting and plugging in wires halfway through. With dedicated phone gimbals, a USB cable coming from the phone to a charging brick in your pocket, for example, would be enough to destabilize the unit and introduce a bit of a judder. When you start to add additional accessories such as rode wireless microphones and adapters (to allow mic and charging at the same time), many phone-only gimbals are significantly overwhelmed. My first "end-stage" gimbal was the Zhiyun Crane M2. It checked all my boxes to handle large phones + all the accessories I need for livestreaming. I was very excited to hear the M3 was being released and purchased it as soon as I was able. It did not disappoint! I probably did not need to upgrade, but this seems to handle my livestreaming components much better. I'll just break it down into some pros/caveats for my use case, as it is very specific and does not cover all of the possibilities of this gimba.Pros:- High payload. I am not going to use this for anything other than cellphones, but it is nice to have that versatility. Handles large iPhones, + adapters, + extra cables without issue- Charges quickly- Built in fill light!- Large, sturdy levers for balancing.- Zhiyun reached out to me on WhatsApp and was very helpful in providing additional accessories and support.Caveats:- Cannot fold down to compact size without compromising last balance.- May be heavy for some during prolonged use- It SOMETIMES deviates from the horizon - usually auto-calibration fixes that, however I think this may have to do with the extra cables I have that it has to account for.- Mini tripod not included in the more expensive bundles (you get a bigger tripod, but being a large gimbal already it's nice to have something smaller

Zhiyun has nailed it –a perfect camera Gimbal for compact/APS-C CamerasDisclaimer: I am not a pro or expert in camera or gimbal usage. This is just my user experience. Why I chose Crane M3?I was looking for a lightweight camera gimbal for Sony ZV1 camera as the Bluetooth grip that I bought was not useful. Sony ZV1 although the video quality is good has poor stabilization even in the active mode. It has been a year since I am searching for a lightweight camera gimbal to pair with my Sony ZV1 and think that Zhiyun has perfectly nailed it.DeliveryI bought the gimbal from Amazon and the delivery was fast. Pretty happy with the delivery from Amazon.Initial difficultyInitially I found it difficult to balance the gimbal with the camera. But once I understood how a camera gimbal works and to balance it, it is now easy to the extent that it is just like plug and play. You mount the camera on the base plate, just must have an idea of orientation how the gimbals work (pan, roll and tilt) axes and the associated latches and locks. Turn the gimbal on, balance using the automatic balancing provided in the menu options (most of the times you might not need it) and you are ready to go.One best thing that Zhiyun has done is the option for balancing the camera through the touch screen menu which is intuitive.Pros1.The gimbal is light weight and easy to carry. Vlogging made easy.2.When you use the accompanying cable whereby you connect the camera to the gimbal the buttons on the gimbal can be used to record video on the camera and adjust orientations.3.The light provided on the tilt axes is an innovative feature, and the extra magnetic light bulbs add to the glory.4.The build quality is solid.5.The video footage that comes out is good (95% of the time), some wobbles here and there but I believe its due to my inexperience in using a Camera Gimbal. I have only used a mobile gimbal osmo3 before. I will perfect it as I go along and use this gimbal to get quality videos.6.The touch screen menu makes the gimbal easy to use.7.The joystick is a welcome feature enabling the camera to be oriented or rotated to the direction where you wish.Con'sI did not feel any con's but if Zhiyun can improve on these aspects it would be useful.1.The cable provided is bulky and since the ZV1 has ports on the right side, it creates some blockage, if you place the camera near the tilt axes motor. It can be solved by adjusting the camera position on the base plate bit away from the tilt axes handle, but then there is a space between the camera (where it sits and the tilt motor). Not a big thing but if the cable head could be of small size it could have been better.2.White Colour theme is okay, but I would have liked a combination of black color as well (not pure black a mix of white with black or any other colour).Revisions that can be helpfulOne immediate one is the placement of on/off switch it gets accidentally turned on sometimes if I put in the bag along with some items. It gets pressed and charge drains. Then sometimes (I experienced 2 times until now) the touch screen becomes unresponsive. Then I must turn off and again turn on.I think it can be corrected with a software update. Then one that would be a no brainer would be to have an option to lock the touch screen - When we use the gimbal, the fingers sometimes accidentally touch the menu, and the options get activated and settings can change. An external small lock would have been much better or do not know if there is an option to lock already using the touch screen.Super Pro-Super Helpful ZhiyunI believe if you respond and address customer concern promptly, such companies generally outplace the competition. That might be one of the reasons Zhiyun is one of the leaders in Gimbal market.I think the support that you get from Zhiyun is second to none. If you send them a message, they will respond to you and in my case Ms. Jessie from customer service was prompt and helpful. I had sent Zhiyun a message through Amazon since Initially I had difficulties in balancing the gimbal with the camera and the response was quick. Also, I am happy they would be shipping a base plate specifically designed for Sony ZV1.Final ThoughtsI think if you are looking a camera gimbal for your compact camera (not the big ones or DSLR’s) Point and Shoot /APS-C’s without much longer lenses, this is one of the best choices in the market out there. Likewise, I said before, Zhiyun has nailed it!
