I use these for live shows, and I have really wailed with them... they're splintering, but under the abuse I give them, have held up very well. I like the advantage of the rubber grip. I play a lot of hand percussion (mostly djembe) and have found it's taking a toll on my thumbs. I have a tendency to drop a stick now and then, so this grip helps prevent that. However, I did notice after a couple 3-hour gigs, the rubber tends to chafe my skin and almost give me a blister or two... whereas, all wood sticks don't do that to me.

I started drumming again after a long hiatus and was having a terrible problem with sticks slipping out of my hands. I did not want to compromise by using an overly-firm grip that would create a bad habit to undo later when trying to play with finesse, so I decided to try these. The dipped texture really helps a ton! Besides the texture, this is your standard basic Zildjian stick which is not a bad thing, they're pretty consistent. If you are a stick thrower this might not help, but if your problem is sticks that are just slipping from your grip as you try to keep your grip a bit relaxed for nuances, these dipped sticks are a godsend. I've been using them about 5x a week for practicing for a couple months now and the texture had held up fine and kept its grip. Time will tell how long it takes to break down.

These have a great grip and feel. I use them with my Roland TD-25 with mesh heads, and they feel great. The nylon tip doesn't really affect the sound on electronic drums, but I like that it minimizes the dust transfer from the sticks to the rubber parts of the kit.

I like these sticks because I like light thinner styles. The added dip gives it not only a good feel and handle but a little extra heft on your strike.

Awesome 5A Zildjian! Nice grip on the dipped sticks also!!I have been using 7A or 8AN Vic Firth as a beginner drummer and those are slightly heavier in weight and thicker (not dipped). I wasn't able to get a good enough grip while playing on my electric drum kit. Will save these for when i get an acoustic set i guess for more of a "punch".Been playing with the Zildjian 5A Nylon Dip Drumsticks for a couple of months now and I love them, they are a perfect balance of weight/size/grip with my small hands and doesn't wear out my wrists as quickly.
