4 stars because the pic implies 3,when in there are only 2. So read the description.I dropped one from ~3 ft and it didn’t break so it’s sturdy. Seems to seal well but I didn’t dunk it to test.A good buy.

Product is good. They are large and I got 4 which is overkill for a harry homeowner sort of want-a-bee welder such as myself. I don’t go through that much rod.

These are a great way to store and protect your welding electrodes or other items that fit in these containers! The containers have a belt style hook, an electrode measuring guide, an inch and centimeter ruler, and eyelets that appear to be a way to mount a carrying handle (?) The O-ring keeps the lid sealed from contaminants and moisture. Now, the O-ring does not fit against its sealing area on the body as the O-ring slides up the lowest thread making easy lid closing a pain. Working the O-ring down when putting the cap on helps. I do plan to grind off the lowest part of the thread to allow the O-ring to sit correctly and should not affect how the lid tightens on the body. The manufacturer could make a simple change to the molding process to correct this issue. The inside diameter is 2 7/8 inches and can hold electrodes up to 14 inches long. 10 pounds of 1/8" electrodes should fit. Depending on how many different electrodes need to be stored may influence how many are needed. I do not like mixing electrodes so I will get more of these and mark them with what is inside. These are a good alternative to storing electrodes in the packaging they come in.

I have an old one of these that I have had for yearsI bought 2 more to hold other rods I first put them in a dryibg oven and then put them in these holders. I took the 7018 rods out after 4 days and ran them through the dryir again. there was no moidture in them after 3 hours of drying. so these seem to be working well.

Advertisement looks like three rod holders when there is only 2. Did not realize that one that is open does not go with order, just didn’t look close enough,deceiving in my book

Some electrodes have to remain very very dry. This holder has a rubber gasket and does keep my electrodes dry.
