I’m enjoying the canister cans, the two lids help seal the canister!

I have 1 pound bags of loose tea. It took 2 or 3 of these containers to fill my open bags of loose tea. I expected them to fill 2 lbs so if I had extra from one of my bags they could all be together. Plus the lids are loose. If they were to fall on the floor I would loose all my tea. I'm not returning them because I really needed storage for my tea. I weighed them on my food scale & it showed 13.5 ounces full of tea (the tin weighs 3.5 ounces). This is false advertising for sure. I'm not happy to have so many containers of tea scattered around.

If you portion out your 12oz bag of freshly roasted coffee for 2-4days worth of brewing, then the rest of the bag should fit in this tin. Keeping the beans maximally fresh compared to an open bag. While these are obviously great for tea and herbs, they are a little small for a full 12oz bag of coffee, so if you have a coffee grinder with a hopper, then you can dose a couple days worth into the hopper and save the rest in this. Or buy two and split the beans 50/50. And use the second half when you get around to it. It helps when you have multiple open bags of coffee if you like to bounce around coffees through out the week and find yourself with partial bags.Only way to improve on this for freshness, is if they install a vacuum seal and allowed for replacing the oxygen with a gas that doesn’t cause oxidation, but that is getting way outside the realm of affordable storage. The obvious improvement would be if they were large enough to handle 12oz of coffee beans.Materials do not feel extravagant, but certainly good enough. Thin enough to dent easily, but it keeps them light weight and affordable.Lids fit well, but “air tight” might be an exaggeration. Maybe adding plastic wrap before putting on the outer lid? I don’t store my coffee that long, so I haven’t felt the need. The lids certainly are snug enough to inspire some confidence in freshness, as air won’t easily pass through. The one nice thing about being slightly smaller than average coffee storage, is that there is less air inside. Not sure how much that matters, but some jars or tins end up with a big empty space.Being metal, they block UV light. And are easy to wipe clean should coffee oils or coffee bits end up in the can.If you buy some wet erase markers, you can label directly what coffee is in the can that week or month. And then it wipes clean with a drop of water for whatever is next.Hope this helps the coffee lovers
