Battery only lasted 9 months. Garmin Nuvi 765 kept on restarting. Put back my old battery. Garmin booted up normally

the installation tool were shot by the time I got the Garmin apart, then the plug on the battery was the wrong one. Very upsetting.

Installed this replacement battery in a Garmin Nuvi 750. The install was a little tricky, but there are a couple of you-tube videos that will step you through the process. Just be careful and take your time. Don't excessively force things. Folded over some tape to make it "double sided" to help hold the replacement battery in place. The tools supplied with the replacement battery helped. The small screwdriver was the perfect size. The replacement battery has the same voltage as the original Garmin battery. The unit is now working like new.

The battery looks good. Same size voltage capacity they don’t give you any double sided tape, but I was able to pry off the double sided tape from the OEM battery and reuse it. But my biggest issue was the tool there such a cheap quality that they’ll bend right away. My unit was a little brittle at the screws and some of the pieces of plastic broke off, but that’s not the products fault. But they need to do a better job with these pry tools.

This is the second time I have replaced the battery in my 13+ year old Garmin nuvi 765T GPS. The battery was an exact replacement and installed easily using the supplied tools. I noticed no tape or adhesive with the battery but that was easy to remedy with some handy 3M double-sided tape.My old battery was bloated when I removed it, which explains why the battery life was shot. I have not put the new battery to a serious test but have left the GPS on for a few minutes while I was outside the car and it stayed on. This is an improvement. All in all, a good replacement battery, with tools, for a good price. Highly recommended.

The thing I didn't think about when I bought the Nuvi with lifetime updates on the maps, was that the battery would not last a life time. So, when the battery finally wouldn't hold any charge whatsoever, I was delighted to see that I could effect a DIY refurbishment. The process was quick and painless. A you-tube video was consulted to make sure I made no mistakes. Everything is good. The kit did NOT come with any two sided tape to affix the battery. If that's a concern for you, make sure you get some before you tackle the job. I found it unnecessary because the battery fit the space fairly snugly and I couldn't feel or hear any movement of the battery in the GPS when I reassembled it. If I do, I'll open it back up and tape the battery down. Why am I still using a 10 year old (or older) GPS. Because the maps are updated twice a year. With all the new construction, this baby knows its way around. Neither of my car's nav systems are as up to date. When I'm travelling to new areas, I have both systems running simultaneously. When there's a difference in directions, I'll follow the old Nuvi's route.
