Keep your wood floors protected and looking beautiful with Minwax Super Fast-Drying Polyurethane for Floors. The oil-based clear top coat offers superior durability and protection specifically formulated for hardwood floors, while adding an even, crystal clear sheen. This clear coat features an advanced anti-settling formula that ensures less stirring and fewer highs and lows across large surfaces, resulting in an even, beautiful sheen. Directions:

STEP 1: SAND THE FLOOR. Sand the floor to prepare it for finishing. Follow the floor sander manufacturer's directions.

STEP 2: APPLY MINWAX WOOD FINISH STAIN (OPTIONAL). If you have sanded the floor down to bare wood, or you have a new, unfinished wood floor, you can stain the floor. Sand and prepare the floor according to the sander manufacturer’s directions, ending with 100 grit sandpaper. Remove all dust.

STEP 3: APPLY MINWAX SUPER FAST-DRYING POLYURETHANE FOR FLOORS. Thoroughly stir to rotate the product from the bottom to the top of the can. Apply a thin coat using a lambswool or synthetic pad applicator, or natural bristle brush. Maintain a wet edge to avoid lap marks. Allow to dry 3-4 hours, but less than 12 hours. If this timing is followed, no sanding between coats is needed! If you have let the finish dry for more than 12 hours, sand the finish lightly with 220 grit sandpaper. Allow 3-4 hours dry time before you sand. Apply a second coat. If you are applying to bare wood, apply a third coat, following the steps above. If this is a “screen and recoat,” or if you are applying over stain only two coats are required. Note: Sanding is not required between coats, but for maximum smoothness, you can sand before the final coat, using 220 grit sandpaper or equivalent. Allow 3-4 hours dry time before you sand. Do not sand if the film is still tacky. Floor will bear light foot traffic in 12-18 hours. Avoid heavy traffic, and do not install rugs or clean floors for seven days. When replacing furniture, do not slide.

Sealed a butcher block that I used in an entertainment center I made. Went on smooth and clear with no bubbles. Couple, coats later has beautiful shone that has withstood use over many months and looks as good as new.

Bad experience with the product. I applied it once, it was good, a second coat was good also. Then, I applied a third coat and it came up matte, with no shine at all. I used the product many times before but never had this problem. Although I purchased the can a few months ago, I only opened it last week, and used it accordingly with professional standards, waiting only 24 hours between coats.I request a replacement, please.

It matches the well preserved varnish on my hardwood floors. I did forget to sand (once) between coats after 10 hours, and it has so far had no issues now for 6 months in a wet, high traffic hallway. Since then I have not forgotten to do so. The product does dry quickly as advertised. I think it is very tolerant of amateur installation.

Applied with sheepskin mop...Excellent End Product. You should use a facemask made for this type of product. Very Pungent Smell that lasted for a few weeks and was dizzying . Needs excellent ventilation for this period... 2-3 weeks became unnoticable... Looks fantastic!

Did fine, if you small amounts use the lamb wall applicator and sand in between coats with 220 grit the woods are different kind of wood but that’s what I wanted but the polyurethane matched

This product is amazing! Do not pay attention to the negative reviews! I applied this over dull 8 year old polyurethane floors. All I did was vacuum and wash them first, I didn't sand or scuff them. I applied it with a mop especially designed for water based polyurethane after first cutting in along the baseboard with a foam brush. Don't be freaked out as the product comes out a dark purplish brown but applies clear. Some reviews mention it darkening their floors but ALL polyurethanes will do that. If you have virgin freshly sanded floors expect them to darken. The fumes are noticeable so keep some windows open. This was a November day around 30 degrees so after I was done I left for a couple of hours leaving the heat on 60 °. When I returned 3 hours later it was still tacky. I left again and came back and it was completely dry to the touch. This was the 9 hour mark but I believe it was dry probably at the 6 or 7 hour mark. The floors look so nice that I'm not even sure if I will apply a second coat. I barely used any product as it goes a long way. I am guessing that the negative reviews have to do with technique (go with the grain of the wood), and applicator (use an applicator especially designed for the product). Do not vigorously stir or shake the can as this will create bubbles. I actually used it right out of the can (poured it into a disposable paint tray) without bothering to stir it. I figured Amazon's delivery process took care of that for me. I would think that humidity would also come into play with the drying process so a warm wet humid day would not be the best. Also I kept the can unopened in the room for a day so it would be at room temperature. I am a 53 year old woman, first time attempting anything like this. I already have friends asking me to do their floors! Who knew I would be going into the floor refinishing business??? Lol!
