Somehow lost one that I had for well over 50 years. Finally gave up and got another. If you use paint, can't imagine not having one. Easy, clean opening and easy clean close, never a splatter when closing.

I had the Red Devil version of this when I worked at the paint department of a home center, as it was cost effective and performed the tasks we needed. This one is identical in design, but it is actually stronger, higher grade steel. I have no hesitation to recommend this opener.

Opens AND closes paint cans with ease (you won't need a mallet). Works with both quart and gallon cans. Tool has a wider working end than some others, which helps prevent the paint can lid from getting deformed.

I will preface this with review with the fact that I worked in two different paint departments and this was my MUST HAVE tool for closing cans without splattering paint everywhere. I opened and closed hundreds ... if not thousands of paint cans and this was easily the most efficient tool for closing cans.Now the caveat I have is that this was back in the mid to late 1990's when all the paint cans had metal lids. I used this on paint cans that I got from a big box store that had plastic lids and it wasn't nearly as effective as the "good old days" with metal lids. Still, there are enough paint cans these days that still have metal lids that I consider this a must have tool.

Sears use to sell these and I had several...but needed more. These are great...I have one onevery paint project. Perfect for opening and closing cans...have yet to use the nail puller.
