These are standard quick connections for Ball lock corny keg. They seem to be well made and connect to the ball lock post (black for liquid and grey for gas) securely without leaking. These also come with plastic fittings that thread on to the connector with a push-on quick connect for attaching your line without a hose clamp. I tried using the push-on quick connect and it was fine for the liquid side, but I was getting some leakage on the gas side. Also, the quick connect fittings are for 7/16 OD lines, which is standard for liquid, but the CO2 lines are typically 9/16 OD. I used a 7/16 line for gas to test it, but will not use the push-on quick connect for the gas side.

Push-fit plumbing adapters are often used in homebrewing keg installations. They are easy to use but care must be taken to get a leak-free connection. Push-fit to flared adapters are not easy to find – the most established brands seem to be Duotight and John Guest. These work very well but can be expensive. These inexpensive adapters from Dbgogo enable a 3/8” o.d. tube to be connected directly to a ¼” male flare fitting – as used on Cornelius keg post fittings. There’s an o-ring in the flared end of the adapter which makes getting a good seal against a metal flare fitting really easy. The photo shows one of these adapters fitted to a connector fitted to a Cornelius keg gas post. In use, this connection has to withstand gas pressures of up to 30psig. The choice of tubing is very important to prevent leakage of carbonation gas inside the adapter. PVC tubing is often a poor choice – it’s too soft. In this instance, I used 3/8” o.d. PVC tubing, because I wanted to use a material that was classed as being food-safe. A food-grade lubricant was used to help make this connection – less force is required to push in the end of the tube and a better seal can result. A reliable leak-free connection (no bubbles) at 30psig was obtained in this test with this PVC tubing. Normally, it would be better to use a harder tubing such as polyurethane (PU).While other brands can easily cost $12 each, four of these adapters from Dbgogo cost only $11 - and they do seal but can leak if moved, so this is a great deal.
