The old one took a little work to get out, I did all the work from under the hood. I unplugged the old one and removed the 10mm bolt and used a pair of channel locks to wiggle it back and forth until I could wiggle it by hand, then I wiggled it while lifting and it came right out. I had to use the shaft and gear from the original one because with the new one the speedometer was 4 MPH fast. Changing out the shaft was a very simple process and with the original shaft and gear the speedometer is perfect.
