While annoyingly expensive, these newer 100m Base-T SFP+ modules are a LOT better than the 30m versions that were sold by a ton of brands for years.They run much cooler, not requiring active airflow if you have a couple next to each other, and I’ve had no compatibility issues with asymmetric transfer rates when they link up at 2.5 or 5Gb like some of the older models do.If you need this, they’re worth the price.

My Mikrotik CRS309-1G-8S+ had a Wiitek 30m SFP-10G-T running at 70C, at which point it would overheat and start dropping the connection. I replaced it with this part, the 100m version, which identifies as SFP-10G-T-100.It reports a temperature of 58C, and is no longer near the threshold of overheating. I bought two of these and find they both run at about 12C cooler than the 30m parts. Overheating problem solved, and I can maintain no fan noise on my switch.

The 10GBASE-T SFP+ module performed excellently during my testing with Cat 6 cables up to 50 meters, achieving impressive throughput (approximately 9.40 Gbps) with minimal to no transfer errors (likely due to the line being saturated). I do not have Cat 6a cables running in my building, so I am unable to test the 100-meter distance claim accurately. My USW-Aggregation switch accepts these modules without any issues, and I currently own three of these modules.I encountered a quirk that led me to return the first two units I purchased, before realizing that these modules do not support NBASE-T (2.5GBASE-T and 5GBASE-T) or 1000BASE-T. It appears that if one wishes to use those speeds, a cheaper, 30-meter rated module is required. I used these for my 2.5GBASE-T devices.Fs.com offers 100-meter rated 10GBASE-T SFP+ transceivers with NBASE-T support. However, these are priced at $139.99 at the time of writing, which is significantly higher than the $55.99 I paid for each of my modules.The absence of NBASE-T support is the reason for my 4/5 rating, instead of 5/5. It would be the perfect SFP+ module if it did support NBASE-T.

Using CAT6 cables, syncs automatically on 10gbps, when auto-negotiate is enabled on both sides.Using CRS309-1G-8S+.relatively chill SFP+ module, around 40C after 10 minutes of IPERF at 10gbps - ambient temp is 21.5c, switch temp is 42c.

This is a good sfp+ transceiver that does not run very hot and reach 10G speed with the Cat5e cable. With 2 transceivers in Mikrotik CRS305, they are warm to the touch on idle. It also shows the temperature of the transceivers. With a little fan on top, it won't heat up during large file transfer. One thing this can improve is to support 1G speed. Other than that, no complaints so far.

I was using a Fibergaga SFP-10G-T-30M 10Gbps SFP+ to RJ45 module and it worked fine. I just did not like how hot it would run. Under little network activity I measured 126 degrees Fahrenheit with a temperature probe on the outside module case and about 2.5 watts of additional power draw to the switch.I decided to try the Wiitek SFP-10G-T-100 SFP+ to RJ45 module and the power draw dropped to 1.38 watts instead of the Fibergaga SFP-10G-T-30M 10Gbps SFP+ to RJ45 module of 2.5 watts. Also, the operating temperature dropped to 108 degrees Fahrenheit.Both modules worked fine in my network, but I am much happier with the reduction in power and heat generation. So far, I would recommend the Wiitek SFP-10G-T-100 SFP+ to RJ45 module for your copper wire runs.
