The hull wiring kit was straightforward to install. However, the design is not waterproof. There is no gasket to seal the screws, and the split grommet design struggles to maintain a seal due to any wire movement dislodging it. Using a piece of flex tape between the collar and surface can resolve these issues. Ensure the hole is just large enough to fit your cable through.

I have a hole where the wires for my trolling motor go and have been trying to find something to cover that hole and still allow the 2 wires to go through and this worked. It is fairly simple to use, you just pick the size holes you need and put the inserts in. One thing about it is that the hole you are covering needs to be a little bit smaller than the 2 rubber inserts you use as there is no back to the cover. Hard to explain but if the hole is larger than the 2 rubber inserts, they would fall into the hole. So the rim of the hole needs to hold the outer edge of the rubber inserts. Measure up and just make sure your hole is a 1 inch or smaller.Not a negative but I do wish they gave you more than 2 covers but it clearly states that in the description. After using both covers, I now have 6 more rubber inserts that I don't have a use for. I am sure I will find a use eventually.

I've had little experience with through hull wiring kits. My only experience is the version that comes stock on the Hobie PA14. I find the Hobie version very frustrating to get right. This kit is MUCH better, and I can't really see any reason to spend twice as much for a name brand. The quality seems fine. I installed this in another spot on my PA14 and know it will be just fine.
