I was retrofitting a Ceiling fan from a Halogen light to a 5" LED light which had magnetic mounts for easier installation. The Halogen mount was not magnetic and was unevenly recessed so I thought that by attaching a stainless-steel base by screws to the original mount, I would have a nice even plate to attach the new LED fixture using the magnets. Turned out that the stainless-steel plate was not magnetic. I did not know that some types of stainless-steel are not magnetic. Recommend a slower speed on a drill press to drill holes such as 1720 rpm with a cobalt or titanium drill bit.

My grandkids wiggled the handle off my freezer so I ordered this to cover the holes. I used super glue to stick it on and it looks like it was meant to be there. Iām happy with it.
