These are pretty well made with clean threads and a slight taper on the end..hex head is a tad undersized and soft edges but they're ok for low torque applications. The finish is cheap paint but it may help to avoid galling (also will flake off and contaminate grease or threadlock). I didn't notice when purchasing that these are soft stainless but they'll work for what I need them for - locally all I could find was grade 8 yellow zinc and the pricing was pretty high (for my piddly application). The plastic box these come in is cheap but actually a little better than most of this type. Good value, just be aware that these are soft steel and being stainless you want to be cautious about galling and ending up with a headache.

I have a John Deere 317 garden tractor (mid 1980s machine). These bolts are a dead ringer for the bolts that hold the engine tin together. Worked well.
