I've used all sorts of binder rings. The metal on these rings looks to be an average diameter and feels sturdy enough. It's a little less secure feeling when locked than some I've used, but it's not a big difference. They're certainly a good price. The only part that's different than most is that the hinge for opening doesn't open smoothly. There's a friction to it that makes you wonder like is it rusting? I looked. It isn't. But it just seems more effort is required than should be. It's a small thing, and maybe doesn't really matter all that much since usually one doesn't open these real often so how smooth does it really need to be? They're good, basic, serviceable clips at a good price.

I needed rings to finish making study flash cards for my LEO work codes. These are absolutely perfect! The size is great for stacks of 4x6 flash cards, leaves enough room to flip and move around. I’m sure these would be great for other applications too. They are very secure, but still easy to pull apart and use.
