My inverter was close to being able to run a load. I was hoping this would fix it. But I think it's too slow or not rated high enough maybe?on normal AC connection, it often pops it's own switch.I'm better off without it on AC, and it didn't help my inverter run the load.Inside it easily modifiable (clampy connectors in there for all connections) if you want to swap out/try different soft starts. So maybe a good starting point? 1800w is pushing it though. This may be better for lighter loads? I'm not sure.

My Coffee maker was tripping the house circuit breaker occasionally (current in rush was to fast), Using this device I no longer have the trips.

I have a couple of electric devices, that I had stopped using, as the circuit that I would use them would also be used for my garage refrigerator. It would often happen that after I used the tool, say a circular saw or lawn-mover connected to an extension cord, I would end-up tripping the GFCI breaker.I had seen a video where I could build a Soft Starter ( YouTube The simplest softstarter electronicsNmore) and I was looking for the components to build-it, as DIY project. Just them I saw this product that at seems to be costing about the same as my components would cost me in total and a small premium.I have been using this device for a while, and the build is solid, not once has my GFCI tripped, and more importantly, my devices seems to not start with a jolt, but rather more smoothly

I had a shop tool that had its power switch crap out so basically I had to plug it in or unplug it to power it on or off. obviously not a very safe or convenient solution. By purchasing this I was able to easily get the convenience of a switch back. Now honestly, it wouldn't have been any more difficult to just wire in a replacement switch (as I had to wire ends onto the original cable anyway) but I thought I'd give this a try. I will likely eventually convert to a full built in switch to replace this, and then just have this as a handy, on/off for some other purpose. Long and short, it does what it is supposed to, as advertised.... just not sure it is the best solution for what I originally tried. That's not the products fault so 5 stars in my review
