These were great. I bought to keep birds from drowning in my horses water troughs and they work great. Gives them great access to get out

I put one on two sides of my pool and that stopped accidental drownings of wild life in the area. Would highly recommend and would definitely buy again.

Things are great! I’m all about helping out a poor frog or chipmunk that ends up in my pool. Somewhat decent quality construction, but don’t expect them to last more than two or three full seasons in the Northeast. Unless you take them out every once in a while and clean them well, they are going to lose their sturdiness sitting in the sun and chlorinated water. But considering how inexpensive they are, they are good value for the money and worth saving the lives of animals.

Since I’ve put these in my pool I have not found any critters in my filter or bottom of my pool. Saving the animals, one float at a time :-)

Didn’t stay up very well. Had to put rocks in the top insert part because it came with nothing to weigh it down. Not very good. Wouldn’t buy again

We've used numerous critter escape floats including the original Frog Log. This is the first that has a ladder reinforced with something sturdy sewn into it. The blue ones developed black/mold spots after a while and would look awful, so appreciate the black color of this escape float. However, given that it didn't work super well and ripped beyond fixing after just a few months, I will never buy this again. The mesh that sits in the water is too flappy for critters to climb up it. The bag that holds the weights is smaller than that of the original Frog Log. We put two of these in our medium size pool as one has not been enough. BOTH are ripped on the float and the weight. Don't waste your $$. I'm going back to the original FrogLog which is now available in cammo. Pics are from two different floats

These saved many critters this past summer and were easy to use etc.. HOWEVER, the area you have to fill with sand or rocks did not last though the summer. It tore apart. Stitching not durable but you'd most likely only want to use these one season anyway. At least it saved the animals.

These are very well constructed. Great price for this life-saving device. So here is my advice.....the device has a small pouch that you will fill with sand or gravel. This pouch then sits on the rim of the pool and yes the weight of the sand will support a mouse, bird or a frog. But if you also put a paver or a large rock on top of the sandbag, it will definitely support the weight of a squirrel, bunny or even a small dog. The idea would be to weigh down the small sandbag so that it wouldn't allow the weight of the animal to pull the paver or rock into the pool. The mesh that floats in the pool would allow the critter to grab it with its claws and pull itself out of the water. Absolutely worth buying. Even if you are not a critter lover, no one wants to find a decomposing critter in their skimmer so this is your best option. For me, I bought it to help save the critters. I do feel better knowing that if something falls in my pool, they now at least have a chance to escape.

Out of the box; one of the two that I purchased are somewhat torn. Porely sewn together... But I am keeping them and hopefully they will help to save a few criters.
