The kids and I made squishes using this kit and they love them. The kit is pretty easy to use. Everything was self-explanatory, you take the packet of calcium lactate and add it to 8 cups of cold water and 2 cups of hot water and mix it until it dissolves.The kit comes with individual bottles of pre mixed squishy material in each color. Once you use one, you just put the cap back on it and it's good to store. You can use each bottle to add different colors to each mold. When you're finished, you take the mold and you gently place it in the water. All you need is a layer of water on top of it. And after about 30 seconds you start to shake it and the squishy will start firming up-and-coming out of the mold all on it's own. Once it comes out of the mold, leave it in the water for 30 minutes plus or minus until it becomes firm enough. And sets. When you take the squishy out, try not to squeeze down on it, bcause if the solution hasn't cured yet, it'll squeeze everywhere and kerplode. You don't have to leave the squishy in the water. You can take it out of the water once it's set only after a while little start to dry up.If you put the squishy back in the water it'll plump back up again. A downside is that you have to keep putting it back in the water unless you want it to shrivel up and dry. Another downside is they only give you one packet of the calcium lactate so unless you want to make them all at once you have to store that solution, already mixed, which can become a pain and you have to hope it doesn't go bad, and we made lots of squishies and still have a lot of squishy mix left and this was just one box. It's a good activity for the kids.

My son found it hard to wait for the finished product.- Inconsistent Results: Don’t expect perfect results every time. There are many factors that can affect your creations. This is a great kit. My girls spent hours making all sorts of creations. We still have a bunch of the liquid gel/paint left as well as plenty of power packets, so they have lots of product to still play with it several more times. I will say it is very hard to get the squishy to come out of the mold and actually hold the proper shape. It is very delicate and can easily get messed up. The longer it stays in the water the better, but worth noting that once it's out of the water for an extended period of time it will start to shrink as the moisture in the squishy evaporates. I was a bit bummed about that. I assumed that once thy were made and set in the liquid for the specified 30 mins of time, that they would be permanently set forever. Also, be careful of squishing them too soon. Even if the outside feels firm it could be very soft still on the inside so again the longer the better when it comes to soaking in the solution.

Buckets came broken so we will have to do the craft in something else. Neither set is glittery which is part of the reason I purchased this set. Comes with a lot of items, that is a plus. It was a birthday gift so I’m not taking it from the child to return. Haven’t tried it yet, but not pleased with the initial opening.
