It is a simple tool. No high tech. The most important features are strong magnet and flexible enough. Both of them are meet my need. This I have used it to get back my socket that was dropped inside the rear fender. It does the job.

If all you want is to retrieve a screw, nut, etc, this will work fine. But the magnet is barely capable of holding the tool itself up. I attached it to the bottom of a metal shelf and even a little vibration caused it to fall off. It did not have the strength to pick up a fender washer.

I like the quality, it can survive daily abuses in an auto workshop. Better than most similar tools you see in any hardware stores.Could use a smaller and lighter magnum design, hard to get into narrow areas.

I lost a sewing needle down my couch! Pulled it up through a tiny opening without even seeing where it was in the lining under the wood frame and it didn't get knocked off the end. I could have danced!!!!

I rarely need a tool like this and I have several of various lengths and strength. But when you need one is not the time to be wishing you bought one. The magnet on this tool is quite strong.

This was mainly for tools that wanted to dive into the abyss and I needed something to retrieve it. I've been working on car maintenance and this tool helped me with a socket I lost inside a tiny little space, while I was replacing the front struts

I was doing maintenance on my riding mower and dropped one of the washers into a hard to reach place in the mower deck. Found this item on Amazon and thought it would help me retrieve the washer. Didn't quite work out but that may be because the washer may have dropped elsewhere. I give this five stars anyway because I am sure I will find it useful at some point soon and it is great value at less than $10. Seems pretty well designed and the neck is flexible so it should be able to probe into narrow crevices and around corners. The magnet seems to have adequate pulling power for small metal objects.
