This sink drain mat is a great accessory in theory. My experience with it in practice is only meh, not great. Does it drain? Yes. It does. But it remains wet enough to allow mildew to grow. On the other hand, it’s easy to clean by hand or in the dishwasher. Does it keep underlying counter fully dry? No, it doesn’t. In my application, water was able to find its way under the mat through the collar section that wraps around the faucet. Finally, does it fit? Kinda sorta. The mat was a little too shallow in my application, which has no backsplash, so it’s not like water got under it from behind. However, I think the fit against a backsplash will strongly impact performance, so the buyer should be careful to ensure the mat is right-sized. As far as appearance goes, I personally think it looks terrible on an island but against a backsplash it might not be as visually obtrusive.

Nice thick mat, unfolds and fits my counter and faucet well. The white is very white, not off white, just like I wanted.
