This little welder packs a pretty good punch. I have spent about 10 hours welding with it and have the tuning down to make a nice splatter free weld. The torch consumables are a little cheap but i have plans to upgrade that.One item i noticed the aviation plug for the spool gun appears to be 7 pin rather than a 2 pin. I have emailed Riland to see what spool gun options i have.

Great project welder. Got it for mild steel such as gates etc. Easy to use. Comes with everything you need. Not super complicated or intimidating. Great price

I'm new to welding and I have been able to learn a lot using this welder. I followed all precautions and got a new welder visor and gloves. I wanted goggles like Riddick uses. I have completed a few small projects so far, fixing a rusted grill my dad made when I was little and welding metal rods on garden tools instead of wooden handles. I can foresee many DIY things I'll be able to do with this on my homestead.

I've been wanting to learn how to weld for hobby projects. I don't expect to be making sky-scrapers, repairing vehicles or the such. This welder is a great value for beginners. Truthfully, I tried it once and wasn't sure what I was doing, but it was fun to try. Make sure you are in a safe environment, with proper eye-wear. I look forward to keep trying to use this. I suggest that you watch videos on learning how to weld for beginners.

For a beginner, something is better than nothing. If I were wanting to get into serious welding, I would have bought something with more controls. This had no separate wire feeder from power so it’s always going (trigger control) if it’s on.In my first attempt I was using a thin metal and kept burning through it. I eventually got things to stick. There’s no reference guide for a beginning welder like “use this amperage / feed rate for this thickness of metal,” which I really expected in a “beginner-friendly” machine.I still needed to get a face shield to be comfortable using this.

This welder is packed with features and perfect for a novice like me looking to expand skills. Coming from a basic stick welder, this one’s like night and day—MIG, TIG, stick, and even spot welding options give me plenty of room to grow. The inverter-based design makes it efficient, and at 250A, it maxes out the 50A circuit in my garage, so there’s room to develop skills without outgrowing the machine. I may discover more needs down the road, but for now, this welder rocks. Highly recommended!
