I lost my antenna doing touch and goes in my Powered Parachute so I ordered this replacement. It works great at my house and at the airport. I haven't taken it up flying yet but I think it will be fine. I have an Icon A6 radio. It is rather long and quite flexible so the end flops around a bit more than I'd like.

Added this little gem to my Quansheng (added a sma to BNC connector) and WOW! For the money I wasn't expecting the results I got.SWR 140Mhz 1.03 and 440mhz SWR 1.43!The not so good: GMRS SWR is 3.0 and it won't even transmit 220mhz (must be back feeding it all?)Plus a bonus, it picks up AM aircraft 124mhz pretty good! Overall for the money this is a steal. It destroys my Nagoya NA-320A which im a little mad about.
Great product. Works as it should.

I think anything performs better than the small Uniden scanner antenna. I then bought a 12 inch (30.5cm) 25-1300 mhz scanner antenna for improved performance. I listen a lot to 2m-70cm ham repeaters on the scanner. Now I'm trying this HYS-771N antenna I found the perfomance a little (not much) better on the 2m band than the 12 inch aftermarket scanner antenna I bought. But on the 70cm band (1/2 wave) on this antenna the performance was fantastic compared to my scanner antenners and this is where the upgrade is worth it. This antenna is rated at 1/4 wave at 2m. I have a dedicated 5/8 wave 2m antenna which out performs this antenna but is much longer and might be a bit of a hassle on the go for some people. So for top performance I use this antenna for 70 cm listening and my dedicated (much longer) 5/8 wave antenna for 2m. I don't transmit so can't comment on transmission performance. Also antenna packet says also receive only modes on 120/150/300/450/900 Mhz bands which I so far havn't tried.

At this price I wasn't expecting a whole lot to be impressed with, but I was proven wrong. I'm very impressed with the performance and build quality of this antenna. Its a massive improvement over my UBC125XLT's supplied rubber duck antenna. Its performance is great over both VHF and UHF (receive only, I'm not using it to transmit).. Recommended

After finding that my calibration on my nano vna was off, I must revisit this review. When properly calibrated, I find that the SWR on this antenna is quite reasonable. SWR is just less than 2 on the VHF side, but very low (less than 1.2 on 440) on the UHF side. Compared to a handful of other antennas, I find that it has the lowest SWR on UHF than any of them.It seems that this antenna does make a difference on the UHF side, at least on DMR. VHF doesn't seem to be quite as strong though.I will say that I regard it as a good antenna, and apologize to the seller for any misconceptions that my previous review might have given. So, given the quality construction, and reasonable SWR readings, I must update my review and credit the antenna with more stars. It seems to be a good antenna.

Seems a quality made product, but SWR tests super high (~4:1). Skip this one and get something else. It is cheap, but not good RX or TX with this antenna. Little difference between this and the stock Baofeng rubber ducky

I bought an authentic negoya 771 and compared it side by side with these hys 771 antennas. I have no device for measuring except to put the antenna on and see what I can pull. I used them on a baofeng uv 82. They pulled reception almost equally but the negoya was just a hair stronger recieving a signal that was weak on both. They both seem equally as rugged, tho time will tell. The hys771 whip is thicker but plenty bendable. For now I'll use the hys771, and is a great deal at 3 antennas for $16. 1 negoya is $25. Hopefully they last along time, but in my experience electronics are always hit or miss no matter what you spend. Often times spend less, miss more, but that doesn't seem to be the case here.

Perfect condition and exactly what I expected. Noticable difference from the original antenna on my wouxon KG-UVD6.
