This clamp is a good solution for fixing a Pearl or Yamaha style tom mount. It can also be used as a bass drum mount, but isn't entirely durable for that job. Since this came in a pair, I actually ordered it to convert a gong bass on legs into side mounts, but I was a little concerned with their ability to handle the weight of a bass drum. This will be best for lighter rack toms.

These are decent, inexpensive tom mounts that fit standard Pearl mounting arms.I like the compression clamp. They've built a lightweight insert setup thatuses a metal insert over a nylon bushing. That allows the clamp to work withoutdamaging the bushing. Nice!The fit and finish are ok...especially for the price. I'd prefer a larger thumbscrew, butthe one supplied works fine. There are notches in the mount's face to accept memorylocks and the base is properly radiused.Hope this helps!
