These were perfect. Frequently our cans are a little overloaded and I do not like seeing the lid keep popping open in the wind. These straps are made well and even have a nice coating on the hook. I just cinched the back of the strap to the pivoting side of the lid, adjusted for the proper length and hooked the hook on the bar at the bottom front of my cans (just like in the description).This held all day while I waited for the trash collection truck. I was a little concerned it may irritate the drivers of it slowed them down, but they have probably seen these as they quickly unhooked them and dumped my cans. The only other concern I have is longevity. These will be outside in the elements 247365. I'm sure they won't last forever, but hopefully they'll last long enough to provide good value for what they do.

Nice, thick elastic strap with a loop on one end and large hook on the other. Worked well for my 96 gallon trash cans. It took me a second to figure out the best way to loop the strap around the handle of my trash can but once I did I was happy with the final outcome. The adjustable strap lets you dial in the tension and will work well too keep the racoons out of our trash.
