I've used the ah-so type opener before and this one is an even better version of what we had. This one invludes the ah-so type (two prongs) as well as the standard screw type and has a bottle opener as well. The ah-so type opener is a must when I corking a bottle with an old or bad quality cork.It is nicely presented if you want to gift it.The quality appears good as well.Highly recommend although it is fairly expensive. If money isn't an option then it's for you.

I like this cork wine bottle opener. It’s well designed and feels solid in your hands. You open it normally with the cork screw but then that’s where the design genius starts. You use the 2 prong part to insert down the bottle neck past the cork so that when you begin to pull out the cork it has something to give it rigidty so it doesn’t break. Presentation wise it is well suited to give as a gift as it comes in a cork box! I’ll be keeping this though!

I've had some stubborn corks with some of my older bottles. Having corks stuck and breaking down while trying to remove is very frustrating. While this is expensive it works better than expected. If you have this problem, this is a great solution.

The difference vs the Durand is the quality of the screw. The screw is threaded and when trying to remove the cork the screw will not hold. Require tools to hold the screw to remove the cork from the screw. Very aggravating and would not repurchase.

Unfortunately, we’ve lost a good bottle of wine to a bad cork because it broke and we couldn’t get it out of the bottle. This cork screw will save that cherished wine from the danger of being ruined by a crumbled cork. The cork screw comes apart in two pieces allowing you to screw in the corkscrew first and then use the handle with the two tines to slide in between the cork and bottle to grab the cork. You use the two pieces joined back together to gently remove that old cork intact. The price point on this item is a bit high but it’s worth it if you can save a good bottle of wine.

This wine opener is designed and works well. The feel of the opener has some weight, so it feels like good quality. Removing an old cork was fairly effortless, it just needed a little effort to get the prongs inside first so you can begin the removal process. Once it’s in you just screw the cork remover down and pull out.I wouldn’t bring this around with me all the time because of the size and weight, but for those older bottles I would bring it with me. This would make for a nice gift.

This thing is pretty heavy duty. Solid and easy to use. Opens wine with ease. Just twist it on and pull. I love that it comes with a carrying case and a magnetic cork box. Overall this thing is great to have as an extra or a primary and would also make a great gift for any wine lover.

This augmented corkscrew set is very elegant and would be a lovely gift for a wine connoisseur. With the convenience and popularity of screw-tops, it is becoming harder to find wine bottles with corks. This corkscrew works as it should. It is likely that collectors are the amongst the few people who have bottles with fragile corks. Nonetheless, based on the high quality of the screw, I have no doubt that the cork stabilizing accessory works. The assembled device fits is housed in an attractive, leather sheath. At it's premium price, it is a quality tool for someone in who's life, wine is of particular importance--a professional or a connoisseur.

Lets you enjoy your vintage wine by saving you from the crumbled pieces of cork. Looked premium and material seems of good quality, found it a bit pricey though. There was a chip on one side of the cork box but I don't really mind it much as I intend to use the leather cover to keep it.

My sister-in-law, who is an absolute gem, always brings me a bottle of my favorite wine when she visits. She’s been encouraging me for ages to invest in a solid, high-quality wine opener, often teasing me about the bargain-bin gadgets in my kitchen. She swears by her Durand, but when I came across this particular model, I couldn't pass it up.It’s been a fantastic addition! While she did mention that the screw isn’t quite as long as the Durand model, the performance has been excellent—and at a much more approachable price point. It’s sturdy, reliable, and has made opening bottles far more enjoyable. I couldn’t be happier with this choice! 😏
