The latest advice from the CDC is that masks don't work. I would rather wear it and find out they were wrong than not wear it and find out they were wrong. It protects from the things in its brochure--dust, allergins, etc.

If you value the importance of your lungs, don't hesitate to get these. I spray painted in a 1 car garage for 45 minutes straight and couldn't notice the fumes AT ALL. I went outside and took on the mask and had to run back into the garage to grab something and I almost choked to death within 5 seconds. I opened the garage and watched a thick haze billow out. I don't recommend being as stupid as time or admitting it in a forum like this but with these you'll be covered. They DON'T last forever though. Make sure your mask is on snug and the second you smell the pollutant you are working with then it's time to change them. In my example, I was able to paint in that environment for about 80-90 minutes before changing them out.

Excellent product. Just make sure you have 18% oxygen and you're good to run all day in any smoke or dust. It takes out 99.97% of impurities. That's what the P100 stands for. If it's called something like P95 that means it catches 95% of dirt, etc. I use these for welding toxic metals and working in extremely dusty farm environments. Hopefully my lungs will still be in good shape in 50 years. Your nose is nice and clean inside after a long day unlike the disposable P95 masks.
