Installation
Threads:
1 1/2" - 16 TPI Tool Threads;
5/8" - 18 TPI Bolt Threads.
How to use:
Insert the crankshaft protector into the body;
Screw the puller into the flywheel;
Tighten the puller bolt to easily slide the flywheel off.
Widely Used
Flywheel pullers are essential to engine repair tools, and they are used for many different jobs.
Often, corrosion, thermal cycling, or over-tightening of the retaining bolts can make the flywheel difficult to remove.
It is recommended that the best way to remove the flywheel is to use a torque wrench set to 50 ft-lbs. Most flywheels will come off with less torque than that.
If not, stop applying more torque to it. Use a hammer to moderately striking the end of the cassette puller to shock it.
Remember to wear safety glasses and make sure you have something to grab onto the flywheel to avoid damage from falling on the floor.
Heating the flywheel will also help if all else fails, applying heat to the flywheel itself will cause it to expand, while the higher mass crank will stay cooler and expand more slowly. The difference in expansion rate will help loosen the cassette from the crank.

I was a little skeptical something this affordable was going to actually lift a 450lb mercury 150hp outboard but this exceeded my expectations. Easily screwed into the top of the motor and with the help of a shop crane lifted the motor without any issues. Would highly recommend this to anyone on the fence about it just because it is on the cheap side.

I bought this flywheel puller in preparation for moving my outboard motor to another boat. That wasn't going to happen just yet but i had it. Then an issue came up where I needed to pull the flywheel. Well there's no substitute for pulling a flywheel then the puller right. Ive never had to use one b4 but I'm less then 2 minutes the flywheel was in my hands. Great tool to have on hand and no substitute that l know of. Well worth the money
