This part was needed to complete the run off pipe from our building, the ground sloped and no other terminating end would work. Nice craftmanship on this piece, should last a lifetime.

The reviews are correct. This drain end is NOT compatible with 4 inch connections. It will not work as either a male or female connector. Website should be updated to reflect this. The inside diameter is less than 4 inches and the outside is almost 4 1/2 inches (see pictures). I will be returning the two I ordered. Shipping was slow and items were poorly packaged. I hope they survive the return shipping.

This discharge gate is what you see in the photos: a heavy-duty plastic part that looks like it'll last for a long time, buried in the lawn, doing its job. I'm using it as the end of a French drain. We were able to bury it on a slope, so the angle of the discharge gate works really well with the natural slope of the ground.
