The description says it is designed for 3/4" OD (outside diameter) pipe. This is wrong. Only 1" OD pipe fits. 1/2" EMT has a 3/4" OD and this bracket is too big for that pipe. This bracket works only with 3/4" EMT, which has an OD of 1" . Makerpipe.com also sells these crossover clamps and they advertise theirs for use with 3/4" EMT which again, has an OD of 1". I don't think there is a manufacturer that makes these clamps for 1/2" EMT. However, you can use this clamp for 1/2" EMT. You just have to tighten the nuts extremely tight so the "cross" does not wabble. Also, it advertises nylon lock nuts. That's wrong too. It comes with standard nuts.

These can make a really strong structure. They work great with 1" EMT. They come with nylocks for tightening everything down. Was able to build frames for props that will hold up to some abuse with these.
