They are very pretty and well made, but I covered them with exterior modge podge to protect the paint from the Ssun as others have suggested.

I plan to spray these down with a clear coat just to add some weatherproofness. I don't trust that something like this won't have all the paint faded away in a couple of years. They are so vibrant and cute, I'd hate to see them fade, so just taking that step now. They are cheap though so I was not expecting these to be something that lasts forever - but might as well take the step while they are clean and fresh out of the box.They are smaller than the picture lets on (but measurements seem about right so pay attention to that). These are not big butterflies. Not tiny, but they are going to need to be clustered closely together or they will look silly when you display them

I love enamel metal decor on my patio. I already had lizards and, when I lived near the beach, crabs, but now that I have a large patio in an apt. complex, I wanted something to add some pizzazz to the beams. These butterflies are large, have wonderfully vibrant colors and are all different. They make my patio look like a fun place to hang out. If you like outdoor decor, these are a wonderful choice.
