I'd give it a 5 but I haven't used my gas mask in a real situation like a riot or NBC attack. So I won't know truly until my mask has to be used in an emergency. Once one of those situation happens and I know for sure I will be able to come back and tell you about my experience of living through such a thing because my filter worked.

bought for my real Avon S10 gas mask for cosplay purposes, it screws in tight and you can't smell a thing with it on. tested by going into the garbage can and sniffing, and it passes!

Does a great job keeping dust and fumes out of your lungs while doing metalworking.

The current price of 15dollars with coupon makes this gas mask filter a good value. Before global apocalypse I used this type mask for spray painting and sanding with fine dust, and the rare one time when I was removing a small area of old tile that may or may not have been asbestos. These have a shelf life so don't crack it open until you are ready to use.I'm not a scientist here. Or a medical professional. So I have no idea how it will handle viruses or chemical gas or house fire smoke, or anything of that nature when your life is on the line. But I GUESS it's better than nothing for 15bucks in an emergency. Please do your research.

I have some gas masks and other wartime gear laying around from my job, so I figured I may as well add another canister to the supply. I'm not a prepper, but I don't mind using a little space for stuff like that. But then I was thinking when I got this, it could be completely empty and fake and none of us would ever know until the time comes when you're trying to escape the mustard gas or covid gas or whatever they're using by then. So, if I were a prepper and buying stuff like this, I'd probably want to go with a version from a big, trusted American company. I mean, even they screw up sometimes, but they're not going to purposely try to screw you on safety equipment. Not that I think FAFUWOR is, but FAFUWOR may not even know where this is sourced from. Anyway, if I run out of cartridges in the next apocalyptic scenario, we'll see how this one works.

This 40mm filter is made of steel and is clean looking. It doesn't have any scratches or surface rust, and there are no signs of rough handling or poor storage. The caps on each end are tight, keeping the charcoal inside ready for use. There's a label on the outside indicating a production date in May 2023 and an expiration time of 5 years. The charcoal inside sounds like small pieces and doesn't rattle too much. This is good. Smaller particles would have more surface area for absorption within the same space. Denser packing also helps enhance absorption. All in all, I believe these are good filters for their intended purpose. They are not air purifiers, just activated carbon filters. Remember not to remove the caps until ready for use!
