The only problem with this light fixture is the round metal plate that is goes underneath the decorative oval wood ceiling mounti is too big and it sticks out on both sides of the decorative ceiling plate. I contacted amazon and unfortunately the fixture is sold and packaged as a set by the manufacturer and they can not get me the correct round metal plate since I had it installed by electricians I am going to have them come back to see if they can find a piece that is smaller and will fit properly. The light fixture is really cool and sleek looking I just wish it was a little bit thicker overall

We were finally able to get this beautiful light up over our kitchen island last week, and we're very happy with it! It's sleek and modern, provides good light, and steals the show without overcrowding the visual space.There are several ways that the light can be adjusted with the remote-- there are the different color temperature options (from cool to what I'd call natural daylight, but not so much that super warm, yellow-y white option that is shown in the product pictures), and the brightness can be adjusted as well. We keep ours on the lowest brightness setting and while that is perfect for while we work in the kitchen, it would be nice if it could get a little dimmer for a more moody light. There is some memory to it as well, thankfully, so we can turn it on and off using just the light switch and it will return to whatever we had it set to the last time we used it.The install was relatively easy for my husband who has installed many a light over the years, and the only problem we encountered was that the standard-sized(?) metal plate that was provided was bigger than the wooden cover/base of the light, and it stuck out to either side. We had to plaster and then paint over it to make it blend in with the rest of the ceiling, which was messy and not a particularly welcomed activity, but now that that has been taken care of, the light looks gorgeous. We were already re-painting the kitchen so it wasn't a huge issue at the time, but if we weren't already planning on repainting, it would've been a LOT more frustrating to make those adjustments.The light can be adjusted to a height that works for the space by shortening or lengthening the cable and wire that hold the light. There is a LOT of length available, which is perfect for a high ceiling, but our ceilings are only 8' so we had to tuck a lot of the length up into the base which was a little tricky to do.In the end, we're quite pleased with this light and love how it looks in the space, but it definitely had some issues when it came to getting it up in our ceiling.

I apologize that two months of vertigo have prevented me from installing this absolutely beautiful fixture over my 8ft oak pool table. If you have a pool table, and are serious about your game, you must have proper lighting above the table. This kind of longitudinal fixture is an option. So what I can tell you about this item is the craftsmanship is excellent. Each of the two walnut pieces is hewn and hollowed from single pieces of wood, giving this fixture an element of Zen lost on cheaply made stuff. It is as much art, as it is utilitarian, and that kind of subtlety greatly matters to pool players. As an Electrician I can also tell you it will be an easy installation in place of the current ceiling fan. All necessary hardware is provided, and the instructions are a welcomed reminder to even this “old hand”, of things to take into consideration. NOTE: I HIGHLY SUGGEST ALWAYS HAVING ELECTRICIANS INSTALL ALL THINGS ELECTRICAL. There are nuances and mysteries related to electricity that go beyond the mechanics of connecting wires. That said, CharlieP highly recommends this item with the caveat of, I can’t know what I don’t know until I wire it up and throw the switch. But unless the item flat-out does not work, I predict that I am going to love it.

I put this light above my desk. Works great and love that you can shift through different warmth levels and brightness levels with the remote. Only issue I am having is that it is on a dimmer switch and doesn’t always work the best with the dimmer. Sometimes it goes off when I dim low. Not worth removing a star though:)

More beautiful than other options and a better price, but, a pain in the tush to install. I knew that ahead of time because of reading the reviews. The mounting area surrounded with wood that touches the ceiling and is supposed to cover the electrical box is at least 1/4 in to narrow. The box can be seen. I will need to take the entire thing down, do caulking and painting of the box itself so it does not show like a sore thumb. All in all I am pretty satisfied with the light, remote, functions and beautiful wood.

This light is beautiful... however it looks like whoever put it together hit it over and over again so there are a bunch of dents in the wood near the actual light
