Great bits - sharp and well made. No issues with wood tearing or splintering. Used on a 3hp shaper so no issues with motor strength. The largest bit may be too much for a 1/2 hp router.

Best product reviews rated this right behind the Freud router bit garnering an 8.7 instead of the 8.8 for the Freuds. You can't go wrong with a tungsten carbide tipped blades as compared to a simple high strength steel. The overall purpose of this bit is to increase the surface area for glue to work in. So for an example, gluing a 1/2" area is not as strong as one twice that size. It also provides additional strength due to it interlocking feature.Having a half-inch shaft is prone to give you a smoother cut with less vibration. Notwithstanding, this set comes in 1/2", 3/4", and 1" so you can custom choose the appropriate size for your project considering the thickness of the material you are working with.I have a wide array of Freud and Whiteside bits which are a bit expensive but are known for quality. I am also amazed at some of the off-brand imported sets that give you a wide array of bit types. That way if you have an odd bit type that you may only use once in a blue-moon it is there. Overall a decent quality bit, but not as good as the Whiteside.

I have only used the middle bit to mill 50 feet of beam wrap so far. The wood that's being used is medium hard wood . No burn marks or dulling of the bit so far.
