Widely Use
Usage : For aluminum, aluminum alloy, aluminum-magnesium alloy and other white metals with high strength, good forgeability & good corrosion resistance.
How to use:
Step 1: Cleaning and polished the physical surface.
Step 2: Heating the surface of the base material, until the temperature of the base material to the operating temperature of 550℃ (1022℉), so you can rely on the base metal heat transfer welding wire to form welds, should not use the flame to burn wire directly, when the surface temperature of the base metal is sufficient, the wire can flow well and penetrate into the metal capillary.
Step 3: When repairing thin aluminum, as long as the base metal heated to the appropriate working temperature, and then use the wire back and forth friction melting to form a weld.
Step 4: Use propane gas to weld small object, use industrial gas or induction heating device to heat and weld big object, natural slow cooling after welding.

These are nice and cheap which makes them great for practice. Which is something you will have to do a lot of if you ever want to be effective at aluminum brazing or just brazing in general. It is not welding and will not withstand the stresses that welding will. To simplify it, it is more like gluing the metal together with more metal. Which can still withstand a decent amount of stress if done correctly and is obviously just fine on "for looks only" type of projects. These are thin rods, were easy to handle, and did flow pretty well when prepped correctly. They were definitely not tolerant of unprepped joints. It just rolls off and won't flow into the joint, but that is how brazing pretty much always is when not prepped. I was happy with their overall performance, especially considering their price and the amount you get. If nothing else I would definitely recommend them for cheap practice rods. Considering other versions can be $25-$40 for 10-12 rods, these aren't a bad deal at all.

Had to return item as the rods did not perform as stated in the product description. Used two types of heat (propane and oxy/acetylene) and could not solder with them although I have years of welding experience. Rods were too small in diameter to solder correctly.

These are pretty small diameter aluminum rods that actually work very well for light work and brazing.
