Practical and useful, these "tarps" saved a hillside of new-ish plantings from being crisped during Palm Springs' High Bake Summer (we hit 124). Easy to install (get the little steel widgets to secure it to the ground). Best of all perhaps is not needing to remove them to irrigate -- the "waffling" holes are a stroke of brilliance.

This shade cloth is adequate for the job, but came in a plastic wrapped package difficult to open without cutting the cloth inside. The outside edges of the cloth have a woven edge to reenforce the weave. The ends of this was not reenforced like the edges and looked as if a blind employee with scissors cut this cloth in a completely not square cut with very ragged ends. This product was not finished cleanly at all. Good enough price, but poorly presented.

I ordered enough of these to cover my raised garden beds. They have saved all of my plants even as temperature sore up to 110°! Then, I purchased even more to cover the chicken coop. The chickies love their new shaded yard. Durable and versatile sun protection!

I ordered the 6.5 x 10 foot to cover 2 tomato plants and it works great. I put the entire cloth right over the top of two tomato cages. There was a nice strip of clear plastic wrapped around the plastic cover and I used it to tie off the one side and secure it. I was late getting tomatoes set out this year when it was cooler because I was not able to do so. Set them out on June 16th and now it is blasting hot - but this keeps them just shaded enough and I have a drip hose on the ground to water.

I was looking for a reasonably price shade cloth and the review were decent so I bought this one. It held up for the season. The quality was mediocre, a bit flimsy so I was careful when I secured it. I used it for several months and it held up to the weather. I should be able to get a couple more seasons out of it if I am careful with it. For the price it has been worth it.
