All you need to do is put the espresso filter screen in the 51mm espresso portafilter filter basket after pressing hard on the coffee pack. Then you can start extracting the flavored espresso coffee with the espresso machine filter.
The espresso screen can automatically, skillfully and evenly disperse the water and promote the dissolution of the solid form of coffee bed, which helps you get a better espresso extraction. I prob overload the portafilter but i don't seem to get channels afaik so I guess it works? For the price, it can't really hurt.

Cheaper than the normcore and achieves the same outcome. My bambino plus would always need a thorough cleaning after a double, this has improved that situation considerably while evenly distributing the water throughout the puck.

Very first time I put this on top of the espresso coffee puck in the portafilter and pulled my espresso base for a cappuccino, I was impressed with the SUBSTANTIAL improvement in the quality of the drink as a whole. The screen allowed both a more even distribution of the espresso into the cup and a thicker, more compact and visible crema on top the espresso. This meant that when pouring a small amount of steamed milk on top of the crema over an inverted teaspoon and then spooning the frothed milk on top of that, I had a perfect 4 layer - espresso, crema, steamed milk, milk froth - cappuccino, clearly visible through my glass 15oz coffee mug! On the very first time I succeeded in pulling the best cappuccino I have made in over 15 years!!! If you are serious about your espresso or cappuccino or latte, get this, because you'll be VERY glad you did!

For the best outcome of espresso, I generally expect pressurized water flow should be even. When the puck screen is not fully circular, can I expect its job will be still fulfilled?

I’ve never had a portafilter screen before, this is my first. I like that it keeps the machine clean (breville bambino) but it’s not a perfect fit in an aftermarket portafilter basket I bought…only slightly tight (and maybe it’s supposed to be) no issues at all with brewing through it. But I have noticed that it’s starting to hold onto some grounds and that’s after rinsing it off after each use…this too may also be normal, but 4 stars only because it appears that I may have to purchase another one soon and I’ve only had the one for a little over a month.
