5mm. Glow in the dark beads (they glow green)for 30 some years I've always have chartreuse or bright red/orange beads in the tackle box . Put them on the line before tying the hook. (slides on the line and rests on top of my 6 or 8 hook) to add a bit of attraction to the minnow, worms or chunk of crawler when bobber fishing (I change up to see what works best). Always outperforms a plain hook when fishing for perch, bluegills, crappy. Was super excited to find the glow in the dark.

These are nice beads, but the glow isn't much unless you have a UV light to put on them for a bit. I placed a bright LED light over them for 15-20min before heading out to catfish. Got to fishing spot 30min later and they were no longer glowing. Pulled out my flashlight, held it on the beads and tossed it out. When i reeled in after a good amount of time had passed to move to another spot it was no longer glowing. So again, if you really want the best glow I'd say grab a UV blacklight and let it set over them for a while and that should make them brighter and last a lot longer.

Honestly, I don't really care that they glow in thedark since I really don't think the cats care either way. What they do is protect my knots from the sliding sinker rigs that I use. I always toss a bead on any rig that uses a sliding sinker of any sort just as a safeguard. I'm not so sure that the glow in the dark feature is an attractant when fishing at night. I'm sure that chicken liver or fresh cut bait will do more for you than a glow in the dark bead. What I am sure of though, is that these are way cheaper than any beads you will find in your local bait shop. Most shops in my area charge 3-4 dollars for around 20-25 beads so these are around 20-25% the price of bait shop beads. Like I said, I have no data to show that glow in the dark beads are more effective, but at the price it isn't a bad deal.

I bought these to use on a knocker rig for grouper. I like to put a bead on the mainline so I don't accidentally reel the swivel into the rod eye and damage it. These are not the correct size for that, but that was my fault. The product clearly says they are 5MM. I should have Googled wtf 5MM translates in to standard before I ordered...I am going to use these beads on top of my hook to keep the sinker from banging into the knot and weakening it. They look and feel to be the same beads I use for the mainline, which should make them work well for this purpose. They also glow decently in the dark. I'm not sure if that matters at grouper depths, but it doesn't hurt.

I charged these up with light and went into the closet to see how they would glow. I liked the glow. It should add that little extra to draw attention to my lure. I floated them in a bowl of water to check that they did float. My season starts in a couple weeks and I will be trying with and without these to see if I get better results. If they change my results in a big way, I will come back and let you know. Otherwise, they are exactly what they promise. I checked holes to see if they were drilled through and everyone I checked had a complete hole.

These are tiny but work just as good as any other bead. I tested them at night and they seem to hold their "glow" for quite some time after exposed to light from my flashlight. Overall, I'm pretty satisfied.
