I used these to remove rust off some old iron pieces for reuse and they work just fine. I had no issues with them and they are sold at a very good price. They should last for a good while.

These aren't the nicest brushes I've ever used, but they're nicer than I need for what I'm doing.Fortunately my need for brushes is the occasional rust removal and surface preparation. Usually on oddly shaped objects for some reason. My last project was a rusty cast iron griddle my wife found beside the road. This set should last me for years. It has everything I need to go from massive material removal to paint prep. Having wheels and cups at my disposal is great as they're both needed for the best results.

I recently bought a new (to me) truck. As is the case with many old cars, the bottom side had a fair amount of rust, but nothing I was too concerned about. I started with my little wire brush and quickly discovered it would take me a very long time to accomplish anything with it so I ordered this product. Within an hour and a half, I had the main parts all taken care of and I was finished with my project. It would have taken me weeks with my brush. This was a total life saver! I am thankful this product came with four different type of brushes. I tried a couple and found that for my specific job, the crimped wire brush did a better job than the twisted wire ones. I also found that holding it flat to the surface worked better in most situations. There were times where I needed to get into a corner but that wasn't hard at all either by using the edge. The one thing to be careful of is adding too much pressure all at once. My angle grinder nearly jumped out of my hands a couple times so wear protection and be careful! Also, after the whole project was completed, I only found one strand of the crimped wire that had come out. This seems like it will last a long time.

I ordered these many months ago and finally broke them out this week when starting a major cleanup and reorganization of my workshop. My drill press cast iron table and steel post were lightly rusted and the crimped wire cup brush was the perfect rust removal tool! Attaching this to my drill yielded a slow but "gentle" rust removal action. Then I decided the table could take significantly more speed and pressure; I removed my DIY spindle and placed the brush onto my angle grinder. [ In the past, I have used crimped wire cups and I felt they almost immediately disintegrated. Not the case here, although I recognize this job was perhaps a bit less intensive than others. ]Wow! Fast and efficient! My drill press table looks essentially like new. The post too (for which I only used the cup brush with the drill).I am now contemplating the best way to keep the drill press rust free for longer periods going forward. Oiling it would work, but I don't like how I then MUST always place something beneath my workpiece as it would otherwise get oil transferred to it. The table now actually looks a bit burnished, so it might already be a bit more rust-resistant. Perhaps I'll do nothing for a half year and see whether rust comes back more or less quickly and then remove any rust again before coming up with a more permanent solution.I have not yet had a need for the other brushes, but they look to be equally sell (if not better-) made. I expect great results with them too. Please note: it is CRITICAL that you wear PPE since all wire brushes operating at high speeds and pressures will lose (i.e. sling at high speed!) bits of wire. You do NOT want to get that in your eyes!

In this set, there's a saucer shaped wheel, both with crimped wires as well as twisted. And you also get a cupped wheel, again, both crimped and twisted. The cupped wheels are on the smaller side at three inches, but the saucer shaped are four inches. The price seems a little on the higher side to me per wheel for this size, but they're good wheels and are as good as any others that I've used. I didn't experience any abnormal throwing of wire from any of them. I find that they're good for removing metal, rust or corrosion from metal, especially irregular shapes. I'm happy with them.

Got this unit to 1) replace the first set of cupped wire brush heads, and 2) wanted to try the Wire Wheel design. Since the first set of cupped wire brushed lasted long enough to do half of the cast iron fencing repainting projects, I was hoping these would last long enough to finish the job, and still be function next Spring when I have to repaint the shed. Turned out the cupped heads were barely even used. The Wheel versions did such a great job at stripping the paint by themselves. The twisted wire maintained full stiffness, and was outstanding at the initial stripping. Easily chipped the old paint off, and held up even with hard pressure applied. The standard wheel brush followed up with the delicate work of hitting the missed spots. But best with a milder touch, as an aggressive technique would just start spreading the wire bristles. Installation onto my Bosch angle grinder was straight forward. No clearance issue with the grinder guard removed. And I could easily see where the wire edges were for contact control. The one negative is the carbon steel construction. While lower cost, it will rust easily if stored improperly.

This is a really nice set of wire brushes. They work really well. I haven’t had any issues at all putting them on and they haven’t had any issues taking things off like rust or paint. They seem pretty durable, and I didn’t think the price was bad at all.
