It's more difficult to make the "flower" from the shavings; you have to use the right type of sharpener.The pencil works well. The eraser is nice too. It doesn't snap off the moment you try to erase something.

These are so stinking cute! I wanted my girls to have something more colorful and fun aside from the normal #2 pencils needed for school. They absolutely love them and have had friends ask for one! Also love that they are triangular and not round, so they don't roll off their desks and tables.

I have not used them yet so I cannot review on that. I now have to buy a pencil sharpener. I did not get a pencil sharpener like others. Just a little disappointed.

Things I like about the macaron cave pencils:• The triangular grip makes them easy to hold.• They come in fancy pastel colors.• They write, erase, and sharpen like typical pencils.• $8.99 for 30 pencils (the price at the time of this review) is great.The only thing I don’t like is that the cutouts are just shaved areas on the barrel of the pencil. The picture in the listing looks like the grooves are smooth. You cannot get a splinter or anything – it’s not dangerous. It’s just an aesthetic. (See photo.)The listing states that the pencils have blue ink, but that’s not correct – they have traditional graphite.
