same size 1" aluminum tubing to raise up my Trailgate Vehicle Sleeping Platform from REI so i could extend it above the wheel hump in my 4runner. Worked perfect.

I’m not sure what the finish is, but it is hard, even, and very smooth, a very good looking piece of tubing. It’s a bit heavier than I expected, so two thumbs up.
