INSTALLED ON GENERATOR

My generator was running with my old carb, just badly and kept dying. Replaced with this carb, and it would not even start at all. Tried tinkering with it, the float was working, it was getting gas and spark, but still wouldn't start. When tightening the bowl back on, the bolt snapped in half with barely any force. Cleaned my old carb and reinstalled it and the generator runs great again. These things are cheap junk and aren't even worth trying, buy the cheap ones off eBay instead and you'll have better luck if you want a cheap carb.

Completely as advertised. Bolted in on my generator, started on the first pull!!!! No adjustment was needed. I was skeptical... a carburetor for $18!? Yeah, right!! I totally am surprisingly satisfied. The quality of casting is nearly perfect, 1 small cold cast spot NBD

Product was used to restore an old Devilbiss GT 5250 generator with a Tecumseh 10 hp MH100 engine.

This is an inexpensive replacement carburetor for an 8 hp tecumseh engine complete with gasket and new air filter. It fits perfectly but the nipple to which the gas line attaches has a 90 degree bend, which I did not notice when I ordered. The 90 degree bend puts a kink in the fuel line, so I could not use this carburetor. I gave this one to Habitat for Humanity and ordered a similar carburetor except with a straight nipple for the fuel line. The new one works well and I hope will be durable. (If it does not last, I will update this review.)

Replaced the original carb on an old (1999?) Coleman Powermate 5000W generator (PM0525202) which has a Tecumseh HM100 10 HP engine. The moment fuel was supplied, it came pouring out of the carb through the air filter! I was rebuilding the original but the bottom cover had severe rust and pinhole leaks and it couldn't be used. To my surprise, you could buy this entire carb kit for just couple of USD$ more than just buying a replacement cover!Four stars because the spark plug was NOT the correct one for this engine! Too short. So I ultrasonic cleaned the old plug (thanks neighbor Lee) and reused it.Take pictures of your setup before removal if you're not an old hand at this. (I'm not) Which hole did the throttle cable go through? Which connector on the carb is for fuel, and which for bypass? It's not rocket science - it's quite easy, and if you have pictures one quick look and you're 100% on track. In addition to using this kit, I also changed out the fuel filter and fuel hose, changed the oil (SAE 30), and of course new gas. A few slow pulls with the ignition OFF to make sure the oil was not all sitting in the bottom and to make sure nothing was 'binding' or rubbing, and then turned on the red ON switch. The engine started up on the second pull! (Even when new it rarely did that). No adjustments on the carb was needed. Truly a "plug and play" replacement. I can't comment on the longevity or reliability of it yet, since I just installed in. The original lasted over 23 years and with a new bottom cover probably still does! I'll repost in another 20 years on how this one holds up. :)
