This axle shaft seal installation tool is impressive in weight and build. The finish is smooth, and it looks to be a sturdy tool. While it should fit most F250/F350 trucks, it did not fit my 2015 F350 DRW pickup. I have the heavy tow package which gives the “wide track” or “fatboy” front axle option. This is essentially the axle off a F450/F550. I already had that tool which works for installing the axle shaft seal onto the axle, however the F450/F550 knuckle is larger than the F350, so I ended up over-seating the axle using that tool. I ordered this hoping it would fit as it has the proper recess for an F250/F350, but the axle itself is slightly too large for the tool to seat. The outer diameter is the same on both, but this did not work for my purpose. I took a star away for not being documented, however I have the OEM Ford service manuals and even it doesn’t specify them as different. The tool still seems nice, so I’ll keep it for future projects where it will fit.

This was the replacement tool that was sent thinking that they sent the wrong tool and lo and behold it didn’t fit either. Simply said don’t buy it !!!!!

I’m thinking the company may have their specs wrong seeing as how no one has been able to have it fit. I thought maybe it was just mine but after looking at other reviews not fitting is a common complaint. If it was to fit I bet it would work great.
