It's a cool idea. Just not something that with hold up...

The concept is great. Works fairly well. The only "problem" I have with the too, and what I am doing with it, is the standoff from the surface because of the studs used.I may buy a smaller version for easier handling.

Holy sharpness! I'd strongly recommend wearing work gloves when handling this (and not necessarily the pair that come with it, but something with more cut resistance). The main body is thin / flexible metal with a rather rough / sharp edge, it would be very easy to cut yourself using this.I have much smaller Saker contour gauges (the longest that I have is 10"), but have come across several instances where I could really use something much larger...this fits the bill for that! Shapes to the contour pretty easily (not quite the same as a Saker) and holds the position well.Handle with care, but this is a great addition for those times where I need to do work around a longer spanned odd / irregular shape.

I wanted to get something to help me make curves for different woodworking projects that didn't rely on having a flexible enough piece of scrap wood lying around and if I did have, hope that it wouldn't break as I was trying to bend it to the shape I wanted. That's when I discovered this little gem, little being a relative term. This fits the bill when it comes to being able to get an accurate curve drawn out onto a workpiece. No more screwing around with a skinny piece of scrap wood usually breaking it, frequently more than once. This thing is made out a very flexible piece of metal that bends to an infinite amount of shapes and can easily make it a ton easier to get the curves drawn onto a workpiece. It's very tough feeling and I probably won't need anything else in my woodshop for that task ever again. Pretty happy with the quality of the product and glad that I picked it up. Actually just saw a design today that I will be using it for. The only drawbacks that I have seen with this template are, one; it is a bit sharp around the edges, though they do send a pair of cut resistant gloves with it and strongly recommend that you use them. And two; I think I probably should have gotten the shorter version of the template though I am still deciding on that. I'm pretty happy overall so far and looking forward to starting the project I saw today that will definitely utilize this template to get it right.

I have cut myself many times with this tool. Without gloves, it is brutal! It slices skin open like a razor blade. Even when just handling it without gloves. Very problematic in that regard.WITH gloves, it is very difficult to use. Loosening and tightening the small thumb screws along with having to hold the nuts from spinning, it's so dang hard to do without getting frustrated. It's a catch 22, I can't win with or without gloves. If at anytime the thumb screws are not tightened down, if I bump it or even look at it wrong, the nuts and washers go sailing and it's a mad hunt to find everything and put the tool back together. This has happened around 10 times. After the third time, I was consciously trying to keep it from happening the next 7 times.Storing this in a small garage, just forget it. Impossible.I'm trying to be open minded. Once you have everything tightened down, this tool works great. No doubt about it, it does work great. Getting to that point is the issue. This would be great for someone who has a system in place, well organized open space, intermediate to advanced trade skill level, and good storage or dedicated work station for the tool to reside.I'm a skilled tradesman in more than 1 trade, and this tool put me through the ringer. Be sure you are the right person and capable of handling this because it will fight you.

Mine came with a couple of spots of rust. Even if it hadn’t rusted in transit my opinion of this product would not have changed. It’s a great concept but because of a few details it’s very difficult to actually use. There are several problems with this product some are inherent in its design and some are not. The first issue is that every attachment point creates a spot that is much stiffer than the flexible metal. This can be overcome with careful setup but it needs to be accounted for, especially in patterns with tight bends. The second issue makes this product nearly unusable. The hardware at each junction that locks the jig in place consists of a wing bolt and a typical nut. You can not get it tight enough without a wrench for the nut. The problem is that you need to adjust the bends at the same time you are tightening the jig and I don’t have that many hands. The problem would be completely solved by using a small carriage bolt that holds itself with the small square underneath the head of those type of bolts and a wing nut.Great concept with a substandard execution.

This flexible curve is perfect for matching a curve. I use this on curves I need to match and press it in and tighten it up and then move the curve over to a piece of wood I want to cut so that it fits around that curve. This keeps its shape, once you tighten it up, so you can reuse it over and over to draw that same curve. It works well for what I am using it for which is a simple use case. There are other similar tools for angles that I have used, and this works similarly. As other reviewers have mentioned, the issue with it being so sharp is a problem, given how you use it. The price also seems steep when you compare it with other contour and angle profile tools that are available.
