Just excellent! After purchasing several other brands which either just stopped working or got lost, this model is awesome. I particularly like seeing the actual distance to the stud (and it has been spot on every time). The voltage sensor likewise traced power lines along the wall exactly where the lines were located.

I bought this TackLife stud finder from Product Farm on YouTube's recommendation in his video testing various stud finders. That video had this stud finder at $30, but it was $15 when I bought it - an excellent value. It's a good stud finder with many features and was worth the purchase.HOWEVER, I noticed large black streaks on my white walls from the stud finder within a few minutes of use. The black pads on the back of the stud finder were leaving large marks. I'm surprised durable pads weren't used for such a good stud finder.I was able to easily remove the streaks with a cloth and a baking soda and water paste. I put dollar store felt pads on the back of the stud finder to stop this issue. Save yourself the hassle and just add your own pads before use.

Gives a lot of false positives, but after a few passes you can be fairly sure where you have a stud. Wish there was a more concise calibration so that the wealth of information on the nice screen was more reliable.The first one I ordered came in a case that was covered in mold to the point I didn't want it in my tool bag. They sent a replacement with less mold... I guess that's good enough

I have a 10 year old stud finder that cost $30. It is starting to die, so I ordered this one. It got very good reviews on a youtube video and the price was right.Overall it is excellent. Comes well packaged, included is a case, battery, and clear instructions.What's not to like? Two things keep me from 5 stars. The default when you turn it on is for metal stud detection. As a typical american home owner, I want to know where the wood studs are. So I have to reset and then the finder will recalibrate.Also, the default setting is in Centimeters, I think in inches. It isn't a big deal to reset it, but you need to do it every time the finder is turned on.Again - I think for the money this is a real bargain.
