This fuel drain valve leaked more than the OEM valve that was on the filter bowl for 25 years.

Product looked the exact same as oem, o rings looked correct, installed the unit, had a leak still. After inspecting the issue found that the supplied cap screws are of a finer thread and do not work, re use your old ones and you will be able to torque it to spec. Other than that it worked very well.

After installing this part I had a bigger leak. So went to the part store bought the right part and put it in no leak,…. Bought this part to save money and lost more fuel by price pre gallon than the part cost from ford. Just buy the part from ford

The valve constantly leaks. The screws stripped out before even reaching proper torque spec. Don’t buy this item.

Screws on this unit are “Fine” Thread. The original Screws are coarse thread. Make sure u keep your old screws or this will not work. Unit Will not torque down properly and u will have leaks like I did. Besides that it’s ok.

When I first installed the drain assy, it was leaking like crazy. So I took it off to look for problem. I couldn't see one, so I reinstalled the drain petcock assy. And this isn't an easy removal and install. I thought I might have put the lever on backwards or something. Upon reinstalling I noticed the screws weren't tightening. One actually tightened but the others kept slipping/stripping out of screw hole. Frustrated, I removed assy again. Had to go to parts store and buy another one. When I got home, I measured the screws thickness. The new screws were thicker with a slightly different thread pitch too. Those screwed in nice and tight with no leaking. So don't waste your time and money on this POS product.

The second I looked at this valve I had my doubts. The closed lever position didn’t line up with the actual closed position of the valve itself. Modified the lever slightly so it could move to a position where the valve would be closed (more or less). Installed and tested, only to see the fuel pour straight through regardless of the valve position. Ended up just rebuilding the original valve. Just buy a genuine part. The customer service team did reach our to me after I gave this negative review. I could not provide pics or return the product to them as I had thrown it away, but my description of the issue made sense to them. They offered me a 50% refund without having to return the product, which i thought was nice on their part.

Leaked so bad and had to reuse old screws also because screws are to soft to even correctly torque almost cost pulling entire housing if not for removing screw once i felt it loosen from failed threads. Leaked from the top at where the valve is opened and closed almost like it never had seal installed when assembled. I have installed many fuel water seperators on 7.3 in 20 plus years working on these engines and never have i seen such a cheap looking part be so cheaply made but over priced for what it is from Ford & Dorman. Cost me 3 times the time to mess with and have the chance of it failing for customer & possibly costing way more than any savings to the customer.
